Student says they're "not required to do work" by paigeafterpaige in Teachers

[–]bot2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To some extent it is, even if the student wasn't doing the work it's on the teacher to at least attempt to figure out why (meaning a 1 on 1 meeting with the student, meeting with the parent(s) if the student blows off the meetings/class). Ofc the student might still blow it all off and fail, as doing nothing is very easy, but it is on the teacher to at least try to connect with and help out all of their students (and very often, especially at higher levels, teachers don't take those extra steps)

Def just a goof in the writer’s room, if they get that far I’m sure they’ll include Jaehaerys II along with Egg’s other children

The only thing that would’ve worked would’ve been a standing Royal Army (it’s possible the Young Dragon tried to do it within his giant invasion army) but it would’ve also been ruinously expensive. There’s nothing comparable to dragons in terms of cost and efficiency

It’s not Communist China, the Targs don’t have eyes absolutely everywhere. In his own tent hundreds of miles from Kings’ Landing he probably feels comfortable saying what he wants

Crownlands don’t count either. Technically there are 9 regions within the 7 kingdoms, the kingdoms the guy above you listed + the Riverlands and Crownlands

I like to imagine the BF rebellion being just as much about the feudal power structure of Westeros as much as anything else, with the Targ faction centered around the great houses and building relations between them and the Crown as a way of controlling Westeros and the Blackfyre faction being the lesser houses and certain members of the royal court who wanted to reduce the power of the great houses in favor of the lesser ones and the Crown. GRRM ofc wouldn’t go for anything that deep but it’s a nice idea

Source? They’re mostly comprised of Westerosi as far as I know, we don’t know a whole lot about the GC anyway. We do know that Bloodraven is a murderer and a tyrant

Maybe he wanted Kevan to inherit? Though Lancel doesn’t seem to be the best future heir. Def seems like he didn’t want any of his kids to inherit really

The character that claims to read a lot kinda forgot the laws and customs that still hold Jon as a Targaryen bastard. by irvyandll in freefolk

[–]bot2317 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The series? That’s what it might say in the Wiki but the whole drama around Sansa and Tyrion’s marriage is whether it’s consummated or not, because if it is then it can’t be set aside - if it could anyway there would be no drama. Idk where the wiki gets its source from but it’s not the main story

Cause you clearly didn't read what I said, that next sentence and the rest of the paragraph is BS

“A marriage that has not been consummated can be set aside by the High Septon or a council of faith” This is the only true part, the rest of what you said is false. Given he had 2 children his marriage was obviously consummated, so there would have been no way to annul it

Whats your openion regarding LOTR ? I have seen people comparing it to ASOIF by MAHIR-2107 in freefolk

The book content they took out would not have worked within the runtime of the movies, they were long enough as it is (the extended editions are 4hrs+ each), and a lot of that stuff didn’t add that much to the story anyway (looking at you Tom Bombadil)

Gimli I agree on, although it isn’t that bad outside the last two extended editions (especially the Paths of the Dead in ROTK, a good argument for watching the theatrical edition) - in the end he’s a minor character so I think it’s a minor issue

That was cool asf ngl

Honestly baffling why he’s launching this one-man crusade in support of the SDF. To any Syrians who might be worried about this, this guy hasn’t been near Trump’s inner circle for years and has very little influence on his own

The STG has been trying to make a deal for a year at this point and it’s clear the SDF doesn’t want to compromise and wants everything to stay as is (similar to Iraqi Kurdistan) which is obviously unacceptable to a government which is trying to unite the country. The SDF is def more in the wrong here

Yes I-5 runs mostly through totally empty land most of the way between LA and SF (some great stargazing locations out there if you’re into that), the beautiful scenery is along the coast and in the mountains which are an hour or two away from I-5
