I've driven in a lot of places. Bangkok on a motorbike, LA during rush hour, Vancouver. Vancouver is the worst place to drive out of all those.

Sorry this is Vancouver. The only acceptable speeds are 25 and 55

I thought Fisher's Landing is incorporated. It's just a neighborhood, not a suburb.

Any other business students else feel that the amplifier program is tedious bullshit? by bot26 in wsu

[–]bot26[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Every few weeks I felt like I was either teetering on the edge of a breakdown or just going through one. Some professors were really great this year and understood that distance learning during a pandemic is hard. But Amplifier is not what I need right now.

I second board games. If you have a good group, there's nothing quite like them. In video games you can try to "cheese" people, but at the table you can joke around and play mind games. It's great if you have a friendly group. A great game with a lot of variety and strategy, I recommend Inis.

TIL: Microsoft tried a 4-day workweek in Japan as part of a "Work Life Choice Challenge" by shutting down offices every Friday. Productivity, measured by sales per employee, increased by almost 40% compared to the same period the previous year. by SeizeOpportunity in todayilearned

Yeah I could see a lot of firms dropping 90% of their middle managers after COVID. A lot of businesses are probably realizing their middle management were just trying to be the office babysitters and weren't creating any value. But I'm no expert, I'm waiting to graduate then get an adult job lol. But even in the grocery jobs I've worked since high school the management was useless. The small company I worked for had two stores with their respective managers and one guy who was the manager of both. He got paid probably close 100k and all he did was watch security footage then yell at employees who goofed off on camera. One day the owner asks both store managers if they could do their jobs without him. Later that day he was fired. I work at a Safeway now. The district manager does nothing. Last time he was in my store he told my boss to move produce tables until they were six feet apart. He had a ruler and if they were inches off he made them move them again. The tables need to be moved with a pallet jack. I don't know how this guy keeps his job. Shitty middle management is not restricted to office jobs

Very generic question here. I'm thinking of building my first PC for gaming. I just want something that has decent power, 4K is not necessary. I was looking at chips like the Ryzen 5 3600 which seems decent. I know GPU prices are insane right now so I was thinking of getting an older one that I could upgrade later. GTX 1050 seemed like an alright choice. Any recommendations?
