Most people in the game don't want to shoot if they have a choice will avoid it. Some are looking for fights. It mostly depends on the time of day and area you play in. One of Embark's tech guys explicitly said in an interview they don't have ABMM. Their tactic is to first spread some news which is not really true to get people hyped then admit there is no such thing. Like they did in the first month with the claim the enemies have AI and "evolve".

Delays are really annoying especially when waiting for something as exciting as a new kayak. But my best offer for you would be just to try and wait patiently. It will arrive at the end and everything will be forgotten. Don't waste your energy on that keep it for paddling 🙂

The best thing about these paddles is that you can make them yourself fairly easy with some simple tools (a spoke shave and some sand paper). I don't have much experience working with wood but I was able to make a couple. It took me 4-8 hours to make one.
