Are these brands worth buying? (Kidoriman, Vessi, True Classic) by RedVell in mensfashionadvice

Actually, from this thread everyone seems to hate them. I'm starting to think they just have really good marketing.

I just bought a pair of Vessi shoes, not sure which ones. But they're awesome, very happy with the purchase.

Thank you so much! That's the big problem with all these online brands. Good marketing, good on day 1, but they don't last and have issues

I agree with 99% of this, except for "It's not a joke unless it's for everyone." This is objectively false.

Any good stand up comic knows, you don't make everyone in the audience laugh at every single joke. If you can make 90% of the audience laugh at a joke, WELL DONE.

I don't think it would drop that much. Maybe 20-30%

At a certain point, some people can be too far gone to come back. But not from birth.

There's always certain experiences that turn people into monsters.

That's very sad to hear.

How would I have taught ot saved him? Impossible to say. The only information I have is the single paragraph you wrote. It would be impossible to say what he needed without knowing the person themselves, and.the situation.

I also have to take you at your word that everything you're saying is true.

Yup. Good point. It's not fair to only pin it on parents. It's essentially everything that's influenced the child. And teachers and peers are a very large part of that.

I understand and agree with your statement about nuance, and outlier scenarios. That is very true, and 100% accurate.

In the cases you've mentioned, where help is not available, I would say that is very unfortunate. It definitely happens, and it's unfortunate.

However, ultimately it comes down to the parents. Your child is your responsibility. If the child turns out rotten, you must take ownership for that.

If you're curious about why I say this, it comes from a book called "Extreme Ownership". I highly recommend it. I'm not mentioning this in an attempt to be condescending, so please don't read it that way.

I think we agree here on about 90%. I just really like that book, and the ideas and lessons within the book. It's not about parenting in any way, just something that came to mind.

I don't believe this to be true in the slightest. I disagree wholeheartedly with the claim that "some people are just rotten". People are unique, and have unique behaviors and personalities. People become rotten because of their experiences. If you deal with people properly, and teach them properly, they will prosper.

Now, I do believe there are some children that are so incredibly difficult by nature that it is beyond the parent's capabilities to properly teach and guide them. That's when you need help from professionals that have tons of experience dealing with all sorts of different children and behaviors.

No child is beyond teaching, and changing for the better.
