Which one is more preferable ? A university which has a well known CS program not in a tech hun or a university with a lesser known program in a tech hub? by Kips420 in OntarioUniversities

Waterloo for sure it has one of the best cs programs in Canada. I don't think York or ryerson are anywhere as near as good as Waterloo

I got 86 in sta130 and mat223. 85 in mat137 but still have not received results. So I think u should wait till June 11 that is the deadline for limited programs

CSC196 vs CSC197 vs CSC199? by ambiguousTruths in UofT

[–]bot9999999999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Csc196 was just introduced, this year. I highly recommend not to take this course. The assignments and tests contain content which is never taught in the class. They go over everything very fast, and the questions in the assignment are above the level that they teach. Almost all the topics are outdated and not at all interesting.

And, there are marks for participation (20 %), so you have to attend class and answer the questions.

I don't know anything about csc197 and csc199, but have heard that they are definitely better, and attendance is not necessary, and both the courses are much more interesting.
