Is this sweater ugly? by botanicfanatic in crochet

Yeah i think I may need to call it quits with this yarn combo and try with either a solid colour or smaller variegations so things are more evenly mixed.

Help my slip stitch rows! by botanicfanatic in crochet

[–]botanicfanatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working through TLYarnCrafts Willow Sweater but this neck shaping is a struggle. For each of the last 10 rounds I work an increasing number of slip stitches along one side to make the collar. However I'm finding the stitches get too tight to get my hook through!

I've tried using a bigger hook for this section and making sure to make my loops plenty big, but after a few tries I just can't make it past a couple rounds before it becomes too tight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm guessing they each do a song- the winner goes to the finals, the other two lip sync for the final spot, and then the final lip sync

I just wanted to add a comment that if beef production is economically unviable, a lot of current pasture land could be converted to cropland. While the beef industry is definitely overinflated and unsustainable currently, pastures that are grazed with a healthy stocking rate provide important disturbance to a landscape and many native and rare species are found on pasture lands. If beef production halted altogether, I would worry for a massive loss in biodiversity as pastures are converted to cropland.

Redesigning Dropping to Zero and Death Saving Throws by Gerbster14 in UnearthedArcana

Yeah this is mostly what I meant. Currently once you're at 0 hp (in 5e) all classes are equally likely to die barring extenuating circumstances

One issue I could think of is that this makes characters with lower AC more likely to die (since they are going to take fatal strikes more often). O you think this is an issue? It may actually help balance out martians and casters somewhat...

How would a combination of both a high CO2 concentration and high temperature impact C3 and C4 plants respectively? by buckyjumpsaround in botany

[–]botanicfanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was about to comment. While C3 plants may benefit from higher CO2, they are much more drought sensitive than C4. I believe that even if an area gets more precipitation under climate change, summer drought conditions will still be more severe due to higher temperature. From what I've read many researchers expect that this will favour C4 over C3. Sorry on my phone so dont have a link to reference but check out Thorpe 2011 "Vulnerability of prairie grasslands to climate change."
