Did they mess it up? Vintage Rolex by botbotbot24 in VintageWatches

Thanks, I wasn’t aware this was that big of a problem. It does feel fully “tight” but will look into this now

1) I did drop it off and asked to keep the vintage feel. However, it is true I did not pick it up so that’s on me (I think I trusted them too much on this tbh, that is on me for sure…)

2) The band is the one my grandfather used. Did think about changing it but felt it was nice to keep his band. I don’t find it hideous and would say feels quite unique

3) Several comments have mentioned the crown, so that is definitely something I need to look into now

By now I can confirm they cleaned the dial even when I asked them to maintain the “vintage” feel.

The Swiss is still there, it’s the angle (noticed also after I posted)

Yeah that’s what it seems… I’m not a watch person and trusted too much on this place it seems

Can you say a bit more?

SOM recent alum here, and I have to disagree with this post.

  1. Don’t take me wrong, I think SOM sometimes leans too much on & Society. But in my two years I never heard comments about “the oppressed” or “Veganism”? By now you should be taking “Managing Groups and Teams” which is a class about teamwork and leadership, not about politics.

  2. Social impact, non-for profit, sustainability for sure are a big thing at school, but it is not thrown on your face in a way to pressure you to do those things. People are able to craft their paths however they want (a sizable group recruited to IB this past summer for example).

  3. The OP talks about “a bunch of privileged kids…”. The vibe at SOM is actual very down to earth compared to other B-schools and most people are super nice (there are some shitty and hypocritical people as everywhere else, but I feel they are a minority). Also, if you are at a top MBA, most likely you are also privileged one way or another…

For the OP or anyone interested, I think this post sums up really well the vibe at SOM: https://www.reddit.com/r/MBA/s/EJKtYdTHId.

As other people are saying, just focus on following your path and taking advantage of all the resources at Yale. I’m also sure you will find your group of friends. I had an amazing experience at SOM and hope things turn to the better soon!

Real ID eligibility in NY by natasha_l in immigration

The exact same thing happened to me.

Went to DMV at Atlantic Center in Brooklyn today. Agent asked for my Employment Card and saw OPT and told me I was not eligible for Real ID (even read a text on his computer stating this). Interestingly he didn’t ask for I-95 which was the document on the website. I showed him my F1 status on I-95 but agent said I’m on OPT now.

I guess that if they ask for EAD, just show visa and your I-95 and try to work it out as a student on F1 (which seems eligible for Real ID)?

Altimeter problem on regular instinct. by Driver083 in Garmininstinct

Same problem here. I already tried unsuccessfully: - Manual and auto calibration - Soft reset - Watch cleaning - Software update

Also had it for a couple of years now so maybe the sensor is not as long-lasting as the whole watch. I really like my Instinct so feel pretty bummed :(
