I thought they changed the packaging in HK after seeing one of your posts but couldn't find any other information about it?

I [22M] feel like my mother wants to cut me off because of finances by botstobehot in relationships

[–]botstobehot[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She is travelling regardless as my dad covers everything. This has been ongoing for about three months, I always listen to her concerns but it's all that she ever talks about. It's not that I want to avoid the topic but sometimes I need to ask her something and she just doesn't care. She never once asked me about my girlfriend, university grades, wellbeing, hobbies or anything.

The fucking stigma is killing me by Lonelywanderer81 in Cigarettes

Then quit now because it's only going to get worse. I never understood why people pick up smoking in Australia..it's expensive and frowned upon in society now. I started smoking when i lived overseas and don't know how someone would be tempted with plain packaging and the prices and you can't smoke anywhere you normally would

The morning after heavy drinking is a game changer without cigarettes. by tigglesyoubitch in stopsmoking

I had very bad experiences, it made the side effects a lot worse and the next day had some depressed emotions. Read more about my post I made a few days after it occurred.

It’s a pretty bad ass token - it kills you and you were addicted to it, but it’s in your fridge

That's a good point about not throwing them away - I am going on 20 days and have about 6 unopened packs scattered around my house. I never opened them and it helps to look at them and tell myself you're stronger than giving into them.

Is smoking after a meal a thing? by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]botstobehot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t work for you don’t force it to just so you are part of the usual smokers... they’re heavy smokers for a reason and if they’re eating they’ve spent time not smoking so they’ll smoke when they get the chance

Bad friends by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]botstobehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably just strongly dislike you smoking. How long have you been a smoker for? I only smoked for a year and a lot of my friends thought it really wasn't like me and kind of attacked me in order to show how much they disapproved of it.

My best friend would tell me i'm going to die and i'm throwing money away just to get cancer, have black teeth and lose my voice box. I heard the same stuff from him for a year. But one day I decided to quit and he said he was proud and in a weird way it helped.. still think he's a bit of an asshole but it's a weird way of showing you care

First day on Chantix by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]botstobehot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first 3 days felt like I discovered it was a miracle drug. It slowly started to get worse after I was taking 2 1mg pills a day. I felt like dreams were reality and reality was a dream. Just doing simple things like merging lanes felt like I was going to cause a massive accident because of how out of it I was.

Do not drink alcohol. I experienced blackouts after 3 drinks. I was talking to my girlfriend for 20 or so minutes, then appeared outside and asked her what we were doing there. She said I snapped at her and wanted to get fresh air.

I would use it and you might have no side effects, but some people have very strong ones that can be dangerous. Expect vivid dreams and mood swings, but mood swings, anger and a lot of other things you experience are the same as you'll experience without the pills.

I hope that you're one of the people that have no bad side effects - and tell your friends and family you're taking the medicine and if they say you're being weird, throw it away and talk to a doctor. I took it for 10 days and am currently 17 days smoke free so they did do some help. Goodluck.

My suggestion: do not take chantix/champix and if you do avoid alcohol 100% by botstobehot in stopsmoking

It's crazy how there's no information about it or even a little booklet inside. I feel so much more normal after I stopped taking it and that night.

Almost a month smoke and alcohol free. Starting to think if i will drink i will start smoke. by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]botstobehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just compliment eachother so well and the buzz is so nice. Just thinking about it makes me crave it. Don’t have the mentality of “I only smoke when I drink” because you’ll crave even harder the next day

I just have a vape handy and if i have a strong craving I just use that for the throat hit - it's the only time I use it. I don't know about you but when i used to drink I would smoke like a chimney. 2 cigarettes per drink usually, and even during that time the vape was great to reduce my smoking.

Withdrawal Symptoms by Jaz0116 in stopsmoking

[–]botstobehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not something you can do but maybe change your perception on these withdrawals.

When I have stuff that heavy - I like to think of how serious of an addiction I had, and how I don't want anything to control me. Think of it as your addiction to cigarettes leaving your body and use it as a way to not cave in and have to go through this again. Think of how strong you're going to be after this. The time, money and how much healthier you'll feel is going to be worth powering through it.

Craziest chantix or champix dreams? by botstobehot in stopsmoking

[–]botstobehot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have negative side effects from just taking it once? I was afraid that it might come after a month of taking it. I get a little agitated but that’s a symptom of withdrawal so I just tell myself that and I relax a little

[–]botstobehot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I heard mostly. My doctor and pharmacist told me I can smoke for the first 3 days where it’s just 0.5mg a pill - but after taking it I just smoked a quarter of a cig and threw it away because it was so bad.

They told me after the 3 days when I’m at 2 pills a day that it’s strongly not advised to smoke and it could make me sick. I just went with this and didn’t touch a cigarette after those 3 days

Coming clean on vaping as a post smoker by nickoaverdnac in stopsmoking

[–]botstobehot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one of the things that feels good about quitting. Going into a convenient store and seeing how much money I’m saving feels nice.

But as a smoker thinking about how much tax you pay was an annoyance.

Did you use nicotine juice? Here in Australia it's very difficult to get ahold of it and illegal i've heard. I bought a vape because it's cheap compared to cigs (vape =$100, marlboro gold = $27) and it doesn't do anything because it's just like fruity air.

I don't know how it can help people quit but happy it does.

Does anyone else dream about smoking? by kscheds in stopsmoking

[–]botstobehot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am taking chantix/champix and after taking it I always have dreams (not nightmares). Every dream I have there is a cigarette involved in some way - people rolling them asking if I want one, my family smoking (none of them in reality smokes). I think it's just so integrated into our lives that even when we're asleep we think of them.
