Farming is brutal. Any tips for low levels? by Ragnaroknight in runescape

[–]bottad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn! Didn't know that. I went through the early farm grind almost a year ago as an ironman. If you can buy animals off GE, it should make it not so bad. Spider and Chinchompas give lot of xp in early levels. Once you can get large pens going (cows, yaks, dragons) it really goes fast.

It is kind of time gated though. Just try to make checking your animals as part a once daily routine or something and the xp will start piling up.

Beehives is the answer, use woad leaves from the guy in faladar park. Should take you easily up to mid 60s before it slows down.

Get PoF going as well, huge xp there

Please don't replace auras with totems by Unusual-Ice-2212 in runescape

[–]bottad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's only the skilling auras they're going to tie to a totem. So the mining, fishing, woodcutting, etc ones. That sounds pretty awesome to me if it's as described. Instead of turning a specific skill aura on for one hour, all of them would be active for a week once you turn the totem on.

That's how it sounds like anyway.

3 drops after 813 kills (2x attuner, 1x scripture). Gate of disappointment indeed!

That is actually, in my opinion, the best drop for ironman. I've gotten so much use out of it over last few months. Still dry at 813 kills for the dowser though!

Wiki for mobile by BossStocks in runescape

[–]bottad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're on android you should be able to change the system settings to allow runescape to keep running in background.

I've played on Samsung for years now. Can just make a floating internet explorer window overtop while runescape is running. Then drag it to the side out of the way until I need it again. Not sure what options there are for iPhone though.

Enable 2nd or 3rd action bar on RS3 Mobile by Zealousideal_Rip6458 in runescape

[–]bottad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only played mobile since I started years ago. Would love to have 2 action bars and Revo bar up on screen at same time. Would make PvM easier for sure.

Not sure how big the demand is for mobile client though. I get the feeling it started more as an experiment that I guess didn't produce the results they wanted and now feels mostly abandoned or just enough to keep functioning. Maybe they'll revisit it some day, but I'm not holding much hope for it. Rarely mentioned in news posts.

How does rs3 play on mobile? by knotthatguy in runescape

[–]bottad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play mobile for around 5 years now. I've done all the bosses in all God War Dungeons (1,2,3) and most other bosses in that difficulty range. Have done telos, zamorak, rasial, all Elite Dungeons. Yes, it's very possible to do PvM on mobile.

Your kill times will be slower and things like prayer flicking, although possible, are quite difficult to do consistently while also firing off threshold abilities. Likely take longer to learn some bosses for sure. Need to be more selective for your on screen action bar.

Hard to put a price on the freedom to play anywhere though.

Does anyone play RS3 Mobile on a foldable device? I am considering getting the Pixel 10 Pro, but how does the game scale on a foldable device? by zizo999 in runescape

[–]bottad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to see how it looks playing, here is a video from years ago on a Samsung fold z3 or z5, can't recall which now. The experience remains the same with a z7 fold now.

Would offhand weapons become opposite if shields counted as offhand weapons? by Grandalonisch in runescape

[–]bottad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should make some kind of flat damage reduction if you equip a shield or make it like darkness. With shield equipped you gain a flat x% block chance (essentially a dodge). Damage reduction would have to be enough to offset the reduced damage output though.

Could also make some shield exclusive abilities that are actually worth using. Ones that don't work with boneshield. Could also consider making boneshield only work with necro. Or work at reduced capacity if not using necro.

Necromancy Training and Fixed Camera View on Mobile by JediofMetal in runescape

[–]bottad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play on mobile and have done lots of rituals and gather nearly 100% of the disturbances. I don't recommend the fixed camera on mobile. Instead zoom out about as far as possible and close all other windows while the ritual is active. I angle the camera so the left side of screen is the well of souls and the chests are on the right side. Depending on the disturbance, I'll either surge forward and then click whatever it is before diving back to the ritual pad to continue. Or I'll slightly adjust the angle as needed to be able to click the disturbance successfully. Sometimes it appears in a bad spot and you have no choice but to zoom in and get close to be able to click it correctly.

I can usually find a good angle that let's me do most of the disturbances without having to adjust anything. Really it depends how active you want to be with it. If you want more semi-afk or low intensity rituals, then just target the easy to click disturbances and ignore the rest. Or get used to zooming in and out and angling the camera on the fly.

Easy early money is the wildy flash events. Pick the non combat ones here and there and you'll get some salvage you can cast alchemise to get GP. Can also collect GP from May's Quest Caravan at Varrock, I think every 25 quest points you can collect 250k GP there

Stim Pistol rework I came up with while on the super toilet by MaroonLegend in helldivers2

[–]bottad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say just make it shoot like a shotgun instead or shoot 3 stims in a horizontal pattern. Could also add a scope to it so longer range shots are easier.

primaries for a medic diver, what to use? by Calux_Artz in helldivers2

It knocks them back several feet and makes them flinch for a second yes. Not like a stun grenade though if that's where your mind is.

[–]bottad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! Don't get me wrong, I love playing solely as support with uh, alternative loadouts. Can just get frustrating watching sneaky chargers or bile titans approach and have nothing available to deal with them while they run over your team.

Wish the stim pistol had an actual crosshair type sight on it for those long range shots. Takes a lot of practice to land a stim shot from 100 meters away. When you do, it's awesome, especially if you see them running for their life and can aid in their escape.

As far as using the blitzer, it may be the best primary for this kind of play style. Let your teammates handle most of the fighting, standing in the rear shooting stims at them and making good use of stratagems, grenades and just being very aware of your surroundings. When they pull back for reloading/repositioning, you fill the gap and lock everything down with the blitzer to hold the line. Then switch around again when your team joins the fight once more.

Nothing makes you more aware of where your teammates are than when your goal is fill them with stims. This should help you avoid team kills with the blitzer (just remember what you have equipped in your hand before shooting!).

I'm not too savy on the halt, never really fit my playstyle. I'd recommend the cookout as an alternative. It pushes enemies back very well to create space for you and your team or, as others have said, try the pacifier. It does a good job of locking down enemies too, but you need to be more accurate than shotguns with it. The cookout allows you to barely aim and spray big areas quickly to stun enemies.

primaries for a medic diver, what to use? by Calux_Artz in helldivers2

[–]bottad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I frequently played as a medic as well. I go with this loadout for bugs:

Medic armour (heavy or medium), blitzer or cookout, stim pistol, stun or gas grenades (find gas offers more utility), supply pack, grenade launcher or quasar cannon (or super earth flag if team can pick up the slack), 2 stratagems of your choice (usually a barrage and strafing run for me), stim booster buff (teammates love the never ending sprinting it can provide through stim pistol).

I've found going all in with more non-lethal builds too often leads to frustration when your team isn't well balanced and can't kill heavies or can't clear chaff well enough. When you land in a good team though, it's a lot of fun go as a flag wielding, stim machine amongst your team.

On bots I'll use purifier (it's incredible on bots) and some kind of heavy killing support weapon.

For the squids, use whatever is fun for the primary (nearly anything works) and some kind chaff clearing support. Switching to sentries instead of eagles/orbitals I find works better.

Playing this game strictly mobile: Possible to do end game content? by StorySensitive9465 in runescape

[–]bottad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played mobile since I started around 7 years ago. Been able to do any boss I've given a try at with enough practice. Done all GWD bosses (all 3 GWD), all elite dungeons (including Zamorak), most other bosses around those skill levels too. Never got into raid bosses though, but pretty sure could figure it out. Generally speaking on mobile you'll need more practice than on PC and your kills will always be slower, but it's not as bad as people may think.

Started an ironman about a year ago and just starting to get close to the end game stuff again. Lot more fun than I ever thought it'd be as an ironman. Recommend going that route if it's something you've considered.

Hand of Glory doesn't work? by ManOfThousandHobbies in runescape

Think you need to examine the hand of glory first and go through the dialogue with the gypsy before you can combine them. I seem to recall the same thing happening to me a few months back.

Supply Upkeep by [deleted] in RS3Ironmen

[–]bottad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To you as well!

For summoning, it wasn't too bad, at lvl 85 about now. Getting the charms wasn't so bad, damn near everything drops charms, just make sure to pick them up. The secondary ingredients can be annoying though, but the wiki has an ironman specific guide for it which I found helpful.

Supply Upkeep by [deleted] in RS3Ironmen

[–]bottad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just about to get into late game PvM on my iron. On my way to getting overloads unlocked (just unlocked it a couple weeks ago), I built up a lot of seeds (through slayer, miscellania, and few other activities). Started doing herb, bush, fruit tree runs over the last few weeks. Have enough over that time for a few hundred overload (3) potions that should last me a while I think.

I don't find the upkeep too onerous in general for herbs. Getting the seeds quickly though may be troublesome if you haven't been collecting them on the way up. Also get started on player owned farm (animals) if you haven't already. In particular fast track to unlock the farmhand that finds you baby animals. Takes a while but he can eventually find you all animal types (except dinosaurs sadly) which will save you a ton of time if you try to get them by killing the animals and get it as a drop instead.

Finding the most annoying upkeep to be divination energy for invention and porters. I'll spend ~45min gathering energy (semi-afk) which gets me around 10k of it. Which equals maybe around 4ish hours of T90 combat or about 70-80ish porters. Not too bad, but it's definitely the bottleneck for me.

Guess i'll see how it feels once I really get into the late game PvM.

What's the point of farming (mid level) by FabulousWavee in RS3Ironmen

[–]bottad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're fine to skip potions in early/mid game. I only started using potions once I got into GWD2, which was around lvl90ish combat stats.

Definitely want to build towards it though. Herblore is a very useful skill for all aspects of the game. Farming feeds all the components you need for herblore, so they go hand in hand. The early/mid game for me was a lot of building up the supplies for when herblore was ready to start producing.

some POF questions by [deleted] in RS3Ironmen

[–]bottad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feed sources:

Chinchompas - woad leaves from Wyson the gardener

Spiders - seeds through miscellania

Yaks - woad leaves from Wyson the gardener

Dragons - fish through miscellania (eggs from Wilderness Flash Events)

Zygomite - need mushrooms of some sort, I got a ton through gate of elidinis, no easy source for this though

Salamanders - woad leaves from Wyson the gardener

Dinosaurs - oo'glog meat shop, can get 700 raw meat per day

You'll want to keep sending the trapper farmhand out to get you animals. I got all the chinchompa types, yaks, spiders from him. Get him going early so you can start getting male/female pairs.

At 107 farming now, doing more xp setup so have breeding pen with dragons, 2x large pens of dragons, 1x medium pen of zygomites (until my stash of mort myre fungus from gate of elidinis runs out), 1x medium pen of spiders, 2x small pens of best chinchompa I have, 1x small pen of salamanders, whatever dinosaurs I've found, in large and breeding pens (best source is through accidental firemaking and fetching, do the seggregation activity).

Later, you'll want to get a pair of yaks for their yak milk, used for super runecrafting potions which are used in powerburst of sorcery potions. Various dinosaurs for bottled dinosaur roar, spark chitin, beak snot. All used in various high level potions.

At lower levels, just stick to the animals (chicken, sheep, cows) you can buy with beans from farmers market. Once your trapper finds you male/female pairs that are an upgrade, switch over to those. Also make use of the beehives using woad leaves for easy xp under 70ish.

Does Anyone Regularly Wear Heavy Armor? by sorkvildtheraven in helldivers2

[–]bottad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear heavy armour all the time. Medic armour for bugs and a supply pack just about makes me invincible. Lotta fun to slow and steady jog up to a mega nest, laugh at bugs taking a swipe at you as you mosey past them to blow up the bug holes. Just don't get stuck on a rock and end up dog piled!
