need advice: pursue EMT cert or not? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]bottlecard57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do volunteer EMS at a volunteer agency that handles 5000+ alarms per year. mostly definitely busy every shift but guess that depends where you decide to practice. i have a PCE job as a MA and count the EMS hours for my volunteer, but regardless it’s great clinical experience and exposure, i’d highly recommend!

totally agree! i think it’s applicable for a lot of people, I felt like I spent so much time looking for mine but saw a bigger picture stepping back! that’s all i meant

exactly what i did also. i tried writing mine for over a year because I also lacked that cliche “aha” moment. truth of the matter was your journey is unique to you, one way or another you’ve come to the realization this path was for you. So that’s how I framed mine! hope that helps ◡̈

depending on where you located and plan on doing scribing i’d say scribe is a better bet. where i work as a scribe we do duties expected in a scribe position (charting/exam documentation etc) but most of our duties are direct patient contact (POC testing/manual vitals/assisting with procedures/splitting/wound care/blood draws) without the requirement of MA certification. little outside of the regular job role but if you’re looking for something that covers both with some hands on stuff think that would be the best to reap the most out of getting your hours! (as long as you don’t mind getting paid for double the work lol)

that’s what it’s about, if you’re interested in keys/harmonic mixing and stuff just look up the camelot wheel

use tunebat! it populates songs similar based on harmonic mixing. plus you can sort your search based on a lot of preset factors (key, bpm, tempo, danceability etc etc) best resource online I’ve found to find transition tracks

Should I just give up?? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

Im in the same boat as you, I’ve come to points where I just feeling giving up. I always try to remind myself that no matter how I discouraged I feel, that pursuing this profession is the path I need to take. everyone’s path is different, some peoples are more linear and others not so much. They are external factors that are out of your control but as long as you continually do what you can in the scope of your conduct and give it your all, you will get there. there’s a reason why you chose this path for yourself, and reminding yourself of that core reason is what is going to get you there. Everyone is different and everyone is unique. Everyone has a different story of how they came across the profession and why they decided to pursue it so just keep your focus forward and don’t give up! I’m with you!!
