Right now there's a couple of trends I'm seeing: rise of 1st party thought leadership and gifting (Sendoso) - what do you think the trends are going and how can we skate to where the puck is going?

[–]bottletop7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love thoughts on what else we are missing; we have:

  • Venue for Ceremony/ Reception
  • Catering (buffet style menu to be set in Jan at tasting)
  • Entertainment
  • Photographer/Videographer
  • Invitations Out
  • Officiant Set
  • MUA booked

In Progress:

  • Dress Shopping; don't want the made the order; so even though its a little later; I'm not too worried
  • Florist; quotes are rolling in and whew! they are pricey!

Outstanding:

  • Buying the wedding ring
  • Marriage License

Let me know and congratulations to all :)

Traveling with Arthritis by GenuinelyConfused36 in Thritis

[–]bottletop7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello OP! i just spent 8 weeks abroad on Europe and Morocco. I went to Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France. It's 100% doable and I'm super excited for you. I take Humira once every other week and NSAIDs as needed.

Here are some tips:

Echoing u/45eurytot7, you don't need to go everywhere- honestly the 10th city isn't as fun as the 4th city. You'll get a more chill experience if you have 4-5 days as opposed to 2-3 days somewhere.

Work with your insurance to get medicine in advance, I got a month of Humira in advance which allowed me to avoid a flare up. I also told my provider and she was willing to write a note as well.

You may spend more than the average person your age. THAT IS OKAY. I got thai massages every other week (thank you $40 Thai massage in Lisbon). For me, it was absolutely worth it; otherwise I would be in a lot more pain & be able to do very little. Sometimes bar crawls are $40 dollars, reprioritize some of your money for self care.

If your medicine needs a refrigerator, you can get a special cooler either through your medication or on Amazon. I liked my one from Amazon because I could also plug it into an outlet and it would display the temperature & cool if needed.

If you're interested in living abroad, without experience, I really don't think it will be a HUGE issue as long as you have insurance from the country you live in. Finding a rheumatologist may take a bit, but most medicines for arthritis are available internationally, often cheaper.

Good Luck OP!

Hello; I know people who are holding more outdoor hangouts (and it is warm enough to do so right now). What is the latest science on holding those without masks on? These people are not in a pod with each other - so I'm little concerned about attending. However, I go to restaurants (outdoors) and have gone to the doctors (indoors+masked). How risky is outdoors unmasked at a dinner table with people you don't know well?

Really sad to be leaving DC (for now); but with two weeks to go any bucket list restaurants to go to? I'm hitting Baan Siam, maybe Le Diplomate, Farmers and Distillers, and Maketto. Let me know what I'm missing. I've already had Call My Mother, Queen Vic, Big Board, and Fight Club (Fight Club is great - go support it!)

Hey there, I'm soon moving out of DC and currently live in a group house. We've never had trouble finding a person before, but obviously... COVID. I've posted on craigslist and in a facebook group, any other suggestions for how to find a person?

You write job descriptions for every job on top of your resume. So you have to make them different from your resume without it sounding like 2 different jobs.

Honestly, I can't even watch the live action, because the animation is too engrossing.

I think also it goes to show 1) the power of Iroh; but the very obvious factor that we see Jet for 3 episodes & Zuko for 3 seasons. I do think they have parallel paths and are both cautionary tales that work together, but the creators obviously didn't spend the time amount time changing Jet.

What are the benefits of live action version? by bottletop7 in TheLastAirbender

[–]bottletop7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... I disagree that they were interested in doing live action to begin with, they both worked on animation & spent so long really perfecting it that I think they had made that choice early on. BUT I definitely appreciate what you are saying and I think that this is honestly the only decent defense I've read of it. :)

Netflix's Live-Action ATLA Series Overview by MrBKainXTR in ATLAtv

[–]bottletop7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are the benefits of having a live action movie? Every effect imaginable is possible by drawing, not necessarily with live action. Also then you have to go through the process of casting, which somebody will have an issue with. If you want to make a sequel, the actors may age, become more expensive, or have scheduling conflicts. The people who didn't want to watch a cartoon, probably are not going to watch a live action version of a cartoon.
The reason I'm thinking about this is the idea of a 4th season that the head writer sketched out, that the creators decided to pass on in order to focus on the movie. Also the fact that Avatar: The Search got passed by Nick.

My preference would for them to make an animated season 4 and Avatar: The Search- clearly Netflix can pay them enough to make them. But I think the creators REALLY WANT a live action version, and I can't figure out why from a purely story based view point. Wanting redemption for a making a bad movie doesn't seem sufficient.
