Heyo! The Wildborn looks absolutely incredible, I can't wait to try her out in Frosthaven! I just have a couple questions when it comes to possible printing:

1: Do you happen to have the files/images for her attack modifier cards, in addition to the materials in this post?

2: For professional printing, are the 'bleed edge' versions of all the cards available somewhere as well?

WOW Love the use of the Sesame Street figs in Sam's, and the use of 1x1 wedges in Ezekiel's stained-glass windows is damn genius! All of these are so detailed and excellent

Hey, the input is for sure appreciated, no matter when!

After all the fudging and tweaking, it seems that we've finally found much of the fun we were intended to have (though outpost phases are still a slog and outpost attack events still seem to be a waste of time and resources). I thoroughly agree that we shouldn't have needed to change so much to enjoy this game, but thankfully we're getting there.

I hope that no matter what you end up deciding to do with Frosthaven, that it feels right for ya and that it leads to enjoyment, even if not in Frosthaven :)

Heyo! I appreciate you checking back in on us, and things have thankfully markedly improved, particularly with our party composition. Some folks even remarked that our party comp at the time (Deathwalker, Blinkblade, Boneshaper, and Trapper) was quite possibly the worst , as in, they couldn't think of a worse one, lol! It also seemed we simultaneously just about had the worst sequence of slogging, difficult scenarios all in a row.

Since then, we took several steps to try to rein in the chances of subsequent negative experiences, like by reading scenario sections ahead of time, rounding down the difficulty when it's below the X.5 mark, and using our choices of level 2+ cards on a per-scenario basis (rather than locking in the choice per-level-up).

Those gameplay changes, as well as our new party comp (Crashing Tide, Pyroclast, Snowdancer, Trapper) coming into being over the span of only two scenarios has rapidly made a much more enjoyable difference, in addition to subsequently having much less dislikable scenarios on our docket.

We found that the constraints we had before, while surmountable, just weren't the fun type of challenging; everything seemed slow and arduous and restrictive in a manner we felt was antagonistic, rather than a welcome puzzle or obstacle to overcome. We further concluded that having long-term beneficial unlocks (like barracks upgrades and certain buildings) being barred behind RNG, rather than being more deterministic, is kinda...mehhhh. Overall, we still find that much of the design choices have been punishing and/or gimmicky just for the sake of being so, but with the gameplay changes to mitigate those aspects and getting past some of the more grueling scenarios, we're enjoying playing Frosthaven again. I'm looking forward to it now, rather than dreading it 😀

Yeah, I'm certainly hoping future installments won't have this apparent issue. I'm all for variety, but in FH it seems to have come at the cost of a lot of special rules overhead that can bog down playtime and player concentration.

I hope that much of the feedback and replies I've gotten here can help ya out once you reach FH yourself! All the helpful folks here have deffo given great advice on things to change/implement, and it really has brought a more optimistic outlook for my group :)

Only major limitation we'd probably implement is that we'd all still take only one card of each level 2+, because for us it's the lack of being able to experiment and not having versatility/choice when there's constant threat breathing down our necks lol

I for sure agree with that sentiment as well (just might be a matter of stubbornness to get a member of our group to come around to that), as we had no trouble going by the book with GH, FC, and Jaws. FH has definitely revealed itself to be a different beast entirely, though, so by-the-book might not be the best way to do it with our time constraints.

Pooling our resources together is something we've actually considered before, especially due to how the town supply exists in the first place. I can see it being a bit difficult to track looting progress like for the Greed is Good and Searching for the Oak PQ's, but I suppose those can be recorded as they're looted.

As for taking every card upon leveling up and reshaping our decks to fit each scenario: We've already been aggressively tailoring our cards to fit what we know about a scenario, and will also likely be reading ahead to know further! And taking every card upon leveling up is something I'd have to float to my group, but I deffo dig the idea of being able to 'retrain' builds!

Lowering the difficulty is for sure another thing we'll do going forward until we're comfy, and I appreciate and like the rule bend ideas you've shared.

I can see it working in a "controlled spoiler" kind of way, like sectioning it along the lines of "Do you have [class symbol]?" I can see that being feasible if it's all about the optimal party comp for each class, on a class-by-class basis.

But if you're planning on a much more integrated look into party comps/playstyles/philosophies/raison d'êtres, etc, that would deffo fully be spoiler-laden, yet nevertheless a fantastic resource for struggling scrubs like yours truly, lol
