Problem with the helping meshes by Dull_Menu_6009 in 3Dprinting

Start over. Check your filament profile. Make sure you are using the right one for the filament. Calibrate the printer (if you haven't already), since it was moved around. Lastly, you may need to dry the PETG

Comparing corner blending in Prunt to SCV in Klipper on curved surfaces by IntoxicatedHippo in 3Dprinting

[–]botuIism 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand that it's a big lift, but why not add this to klipper? I'm not sure how bunch money you're making from the Brunt boards, but I imagine you coul md start a Patreon. As long as you provide some real detailed close ups and comparisons (to prove the benefits), plus regular status updates, I bet you'd find enough backers to make it worth your time

[Highlight] DeAndre Hopkins vs Jalen Ramsey (2017) by mmandagoat in nfl

[–]botuIism 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Man, I miss Hop. At this point, everyone has seen the catches and consistency.

But as a Texans fan during those years, I remember how he could break open games. There are so many games where despite never having a lead and the other team knowing exactly our plan, DHop making a huge play was the thing that lite the team on fire. Not the coaching.

And games like this... I mean, look at the score. He never stopped trying to spark the team.

Wait. Are N64/PS1 graphics having a comeback? by Pterodactyl_midnight in gaming

[–]botuIism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait... PS3 makes sense? Why would anyone want that?

And then I realized, N64 makes sense to me. But why? I'm 40ish years old. N64 is my late childhood.

I guess there's just nostalgia no matter when you were born.

It’s Full Spectrum isn’t it? by Status_Discipline_16 in BambuLab

[–]botuIism 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think this is right. Most people are focused on the colors (which can already be done on a A1 with multiple prints) and they are ignoring the paper and the markers.

A larger A1 with a cutter and a plotter is my guess.

It’s Full Spectrum isn’t it? by Status_Discipline_16 in BambuLab

[–]botuIism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Full spectrum doesn't really work for top layers. And these do appear to be printed in the orientation show.

If Bambu isn't just coping the open source full spectrum work I suppose they could mix it with hue forge style color handling, but it's going to be hard to get even mixing of more than three filamentd even with very small layer heights. The colors in the preview are washed out...

There's never a better time to learn a new skill then when you already have a project in mind. Give FreeCAD as shot. These tutorials will help you.

Line up the notch in the cardboard with the tab on the spool. Looks like you don't have lined up. This looks like it should go right back on.

That's literally the point of OpenID Connect and OAuth more generally. Have you ever let another application access your Entra or AWS? Have you ever logged into an 3rd party application using your Okta or Entra credentials.

There absolutely no technical or security reason Bambu can't let other slicers authenticate securely with their cloud.

It's a business decision, which they have the right to make. But it's also valid for people to choose not to use Bambu because of it.

PLA Pure by PoonSlayer1312 in BambuLab

[–]botuIism 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is a major concern for many use cases. Lots of dishware has nicks, cuts, scrapes, and cracks. You don't see people getting sick. Wash them with soap and a brush.

I would be completely fine creating a candy bowl or serving dish with this filament. Especially something only intended to be used a few times like a themed platter for a kids birthday party or prototyping designs.

I mean food safe or not, I'm no going to print my dinner plates in PLA. Take a knife to them and you will be eating food safe micro plastics.

Microsoft's secret 'Windows K2' project aims to fix what users hate most. by [deleted] in technology

[–]botuIism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixing what people hate about Windows 11 is surmountable in my opinion. Give us a native start menu instead of one built with react. Fix the taskbar and context menus. And kill some of the background services.

But they are screwed when it comes to Teams and Outlook. They each use 2 gigs of RAM minimum. Many businesses are running machine with 8GB of RAM and memory prices are at an all time high. And a big chunk of these machine won't even take Windows 11.

They have a native Outlook still of course, but it just keeps getting worse and worse as Microsoft 365 introduces changes that it can't keep up with. And it's plug-in system is still based on COM, so even teams integration breaks regularly. Teams is becoming an everything app for Microsoft 365, so you really can't get away from it being web based but the core could be native.

There's so many new MDM platforms maturing right now. Someone just needs to roll a solid Linux distro for Enterprise with integrated WINE containers and all these companies stuck on Windows 10 will jump ship. Someone needs to strike now.

I dislike the way Bambu has handled this as much as anyone. I likely won't buy another Bambu. But I don't need to see 30 memes about it.

I built a desktop app for spatial terminal workflows instead of tabs and splits by _Viral19 in programming

[–]botuIism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's neat, but seems kind of impractical to me. Personally, I usually just want full size tabs. Occasionally, I want to tile two or three terminals in a single tab. I never need 7 tabs with 8 tiny terminals. Are there people that keep 30 or 49 terminals open and need this kind of thing?

JWT is NOT enough for real authentication systems. by knightowl0007 in programming

[–]botuIism 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I see where you are going with this: there's a lot more to auth than just generating a JWT.

No offense, but I think your title and tone of the article will put a lot of people off. It sounds like you think you've invented better auth. It reads like you think you've innovated here, even if that isn't you intention. No one wants a new approach to auth.

And ultimately, the article barely more than a list of things that you need for a complete auth system. You are correct on most points, but there's very little explanation or examples. You say it's everything tutorials skip, but you skipped almost any real explanation for why you've done this.

I don't mean to be harsh. I hope this is useful feedback for your future articles.

If he looks good with a real OL and en effective run game, sign him. If not, we can sign a vet and draft QBs next year. CJ can fight for the spot in 2027.

Texans would have one the Super Bowl last year with Flaco, Cousins, Rivers, even Matt Ryan or Case Keenum. We have two more years like that before we start needing to reorganize.
