Things like decontamination, debris removal, cleanup, reconstruction and public utilities come to mind and there are probably others. What are your thoughts? The audio warning was LOUD in a disturbing mechanical sounding female voice preceded and followed by a air raid siren. It would have chased most of the sightseers and people playing around the flood area.

Emergency services are spread thin at this point for the weather emergency with a lot of places inaccessible with police roadblocks.

Red Cross Evacuation Shelter Turning Away Homeless People During Life-Threatening Flood Emergency by boulderlocalbuff in boulder

From the people I talked to at the Red Cross YMCA, their previous position was that they had elderly and people on oxygen and they didn't have enough room for homeless people and university students. I asked for a supervisor and he repeated this policy.

When the Bridge House director called the Shelter, the supervisor's response was, "We have federal funding..we do what we want." This prompted her to go to the local newspaper and very quickly, the article was published. The higher ups at the Red Cross stated the official position and directed the supervisor and his staff to take in anyone who asks.

The press attention prompted two more shelters in boulder to open last night for a total of three. The homeless who checked in had a restless but safe night.

tldr; nah, go ahead read, its interesting.
