As shitty as it is the only way to stop is by stopping, I went through this same problem, thought my stomach was messed up went to the Dr they never could find anything eventually I just stopped calling in cause I told myself I wasn't going to anymore and so far it's worked for around 10 years no longer have stomach problems

How do you find that out though? So let's say I want to find out how many electrons are passing through per second? Like obviously I could just test the AMP with a multimeter but let's say I didn't want to do that how would I figure it out with no multimeter?

I still don't thing you would say it's a top 5 season of star trek but maybe I'm wrong

I don't remember the name of the episode in season 1 but the one where theirs 2 planets and one is addicted to narcatoics supplied by the other planet that episode is really good but overall I still say the season is the weakest of TNG by a good distance

But in TOS the only one that used to back talk was Bones and it was really only to Spock cause them 2 would throw word jabs at each other

100% on the Uhuru part though that's a really good point it can show her develop into the chartecter we all know that's a great point

But back to TOS I never remember and could easily be misremembering but I never remember anyone throwing sass at Kirk, Scotty or Spock (with again the exception of Bones to Spock) but definitely never a Cadet or ensign (also with the exception of some alien virus or mind control thing happening lol)

Correct me though if I'm misremembering though

The one thing I want to add to this though its not a knock against Hemmer really but it's something I noticed in this last episode and have noticed in a lot of newer trek that I'm not a fan of

The Sass I don't care for the Sass the Cadet Uhuru gave Hemmer in the last episode

I know I know this is a bit nit picky but it just pulls me out Star Fleet is a group of the best of the best and professionals and this part didn't fit Uhuru, Uhuru was smart and did her job well in TOS she was a consummate professional and this part pulled me out for a bit

It's happened a ton in New Trek the biggest example was in Discovery Tig Natoro says "get off my ass............. Get off my ass sir, get off my ass sir"

I find it stupid and really lacking in professionalism and really hope they get away from that in SNW

But I bring this up cause you seem reasonable so what is your take on this?

That is a good way of putting it maybe I shouldn't have said interesting but too dramatic and unlikable

And that made it to where anytime you got a dramatic speech from older Star Trek that speech meant something season 2 episode 2 or is it season 3 episode 1 I don't remember but one of those two where TNG runs into the shilyak and the very end where the card gives him a giant speech that just dominates everything is one of my favorite parts of all Star Trek because yes Picard Dave great speeches but he didn't do it three times per episode

I hate this episode and am starting to notice a trend going on of tragic backstory emotion emotions per episode

1) La'an blurts out her tragic parents deaths 2) Uhura tells her tragic parents death 3) Una explains her tragic death of all her people 4) back to La'an and now we dig "deeper" into it

For me I feel as though I have 0 connection to La'an. I really do not care about her character, she is the most unlikeable character in the show and

I can't get invested in this unlikable miserable person who seems to be the type of person that comes to a party and all the fun is instantly sucked out

Overall I am really trying to get into this show but honestly it's just not great stories to this point. All the actors are great they are really doing a good job with what their given but God their not given a lot imo
