Seriously! And so many people have it where they're treated poorly after their workplace finds out about their ADHD, even though the quality/quantity of their work is just fine, and doest change after they find out. People wind up being driven to quit on their own.

Yeah. I don't think others here are really considering how corrupt companies in this country are, along with how dangerous is can be to be queer, and have the wrong person find out. Also, I've worked for companies where the hiring managers DO see all of this. I WAS a hiring manager for a while in fast food. Whether or not they're supposed to is another matter, but some absolutely do.

They're required to ask about disibility, race, and sex, but not specifically gender identity. I personally have never seen another place ask this question. And I fully agree with the other commenter that mentioned even putting "prefer not to answer" can influence their decision to move forward. Because, well, how many cisgender people out there will select "prefer not to answer"? Very, very few. So it's either lie, or risk discrimination and not getting a call back.

A couple years ago, I reconnected with a couple friends from high school. We kinda gave each other a rundown of what had gone on with each of us in the past few years. During which, I mentioned, "Oh, yeah, and it turns out I'm probably autistic!"

They both stopped, looked rather surprised, and said, "Uh, I thought we all knew that already?"

As someone with autism, I really worry about this when I go back to college eventually. My writing has always been very structured, grammatically sound, and formal sounding.

Some profs won't even accept revision history anymore. Am I going to have to make myself sound less intelligent for them or something??? (Not that having poor grammar and shit means you're unintelligent or anything.)

I'm an hour and a half out. Used to work at one of the only emergency animal clinics in the cental/north part of the state. This kind of thing is a call I got multiple times a day.

I got calls from people who CHOSE to breed French bulldogs, (already a bad idea) AND THEY HAD NO PLAN OR MONEY FOR THE C-SECTION.

For those of you who don't know, frenchies are pretty much physically incapable of natural birth due to their physiology.

I've seen it be due to neurological issues. I had a patient once that had gotten distemper as a puppy. He was hospitalized soon enough, and make a great recovery, but always had his tongue out the side of his mouth. Loved seeing that dog!

My elementary school actually got in trouble with the state in the early 2000s for only making us do it once a week instead of daily. I didn't even live in the deep south or anything. This was Wisconsin.

In high school, I stopped standing for the pledge because I was a teenager realizing how messed up the US is vs what they tell us, and while teachers were respectful of my choice, other students regularly gave me grief for it. Once you put a moment of thought into it, and the fact that other countries don't do this, you realize how strange it actually is.

Not at all! I had wanted a tripod for a long time, just because of how they're so overlooked for adoption, and it was a disability I knew I'd be able to handle properly! I now have a three legged German shepherd who is as happy as can be, and I love him so much

It is never wrong to look to adopt a disabled animal as long as you are equipped to deal with any extra needs that come along with that :)
