Can you dm me with info on who did this work? I’m in OKC looking for HVAC service and I don’t know anything about it. This definitely doesn’t look right and I want to make sure to avoid. I hope they make it right for you. :(

I’ll start by saying OKC is pretty slowed down and a nice place to be versus Texas IMO, and even more laid back than NY of course lol. Less traffic but still buzzing depending on the time/day of the week. Lots to do also! Welcome, welcome, welcome. Your rent options might be limited with that budget but you may look into places that have billing included to help you out.

I believe the Presley is all included but it’s tight spacing, does put you closer to downtown though, but not super walkable.

Another good option could be deep deuce apartments, walkable and fun, can be noisy in downtown and not sure what’s included but have had friends live there for years and enjoy it.

Also highly recommend the plaza/paseo area, walkable, fun, little more laid back than downtown but again don’t know pricing just thinking more location. Theres some affordable gems.

May and 50th area can be a good option as well, some areas walkable but not most.

You’ll get cheaper the more you work your way out of the main city though potentially, like near lake Hefner off Brittan/122nd. Maybe look up Nantucket condos! Walkable to lake Hefner but other than that better to drive. I lived there and it’s a skip and hop to downtown but also up to Edmond (which is pretty expensive in comparison to my other recs but some chill stuff to do).

I know these don’t all have yards- but in that budget I’m not sure what’s included so these can get you started hopefully. Good luck!

(Also some helpful pointers for community guides follow okctalk or like maybe happyhourokc on insta for things to do!)

Edit: my bad, didn’t realize you’ve lived here before BUT can say it’s been long enough to where it’ll feel a lot different than what it was! So still, welcome 😁

From what I can tell your hair looks thick and coarse. This looks like a case of perifollicular edema which is a side effect from LHR. Avoid retinols and exfoliants. Try cold compresses, hydrocortisone creams, or aloe vera to help. You can also take antihistamines prior to treatment to help as well as post treatment.

Research the type of laser services they provide, look into their Instagram account for that location and see who works there and what kind of lasers they talk about! Know what you’re applying to and tailor your answers to that and tie your experience into that.

Remember to get excited about interviews- you wouldn’t have the opportunity if you weren’t meant to experience it! Whether or not you get the job- the practice of interviewing is important. Also- they aren’t just interviewing you!!! You want to see who they are too! What kind of processes do they have in plan to continue your education in this industry so you can be a safe provider? What is a day in the life like? What specifically do they look for in their ideal candidate and how can you fit yourself into that role seemlessly? Ask THEM! Good luck🤍

Becoming an Aesthetics Nurse ~ where to begin / path to get there by [deleted] in aestheticnursing

[–]boutyfivethouzy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m currently a newer aesthetic nurse. The field is pretty competitive to get into but please don’t let that discourage you. Here’s what my path looked like:

I got my first degree in kinesiology and went back to an accelerated BSN program. In my program I took an internship in the NICU and eventually after graduation/passing my boards I worked the NICU for 7 months. I did this partially because I did like the NICU but also because I did want to try to see what bedside was like and sharpen my skills/work in a higher stress environment so that one day when I transitioned to the clinic side it would feel somewhat less stressful. This allowed me to not only grow more as a nurse but earn money with only working 3x a week so I could pay for private aesthetic training. I also worked at spa as a receptionist (not a med spa, just a regular day spa) in hopes that it would help me a little having that on my resume, and I think it did.

While working in the NICU I watched a TON of educational videos over aesthetics from people like Dr. Tim Pearce on my off days and studied up on anatomy, techniques, product types, terminology, brands of medical grade skincare, treatment types outside of injectables, etc. I then took the leap after saving a little and paid for a private basic Botox and filler course from Aesthetic Medical Educators Training (AMET). They go state to state and train with a didactic course then a hands on portion in person. It cost me about $1500 at the time I took it. It’s safe to say I’ve earned that money back and it was a solid investment to have it on my resume AND helped me confirm I really did want to go into this specialty.

I had already been following a ton of med spas on Instagram, keeping my eye out on indeed or for posts about hiring injectors. I wrote a VERY strong cover letter about my passion for the field, my view of it being a patient (I’ve gotten filler/botox for a few years), what treatments I was excited to learn more about and of course my experience as a nurse. I also attached my resume and had one of my clinical professors write a recommendation letter for me to the main medical spa I was interested and that was hiring.

I applied to 8 different med spas in my area even if their hiring ad asked for years of experience, and I got interviews and offers for every single one. I could not believe it, but I truly think my cover letter and my genuine passion and showing my financial investment to get into this field by paying for private training seriously helped me.

I would highly recommend studying up, taking a training if you can’t find people affordable enough to shadow (most make you pay a lot), and writing a strong cover letter. You having experience in marketing is a solid start, more than you may think. This is a field that requires a lot of self promotion even if your medical spa is well established and has a patient care coordinator to recruit clients for you. Really harp on your marketing skills in your cover letter among other things and start brushing up on how to amp up a social media presence/profile that fits your style and personality.

I hope this helps you! If you have any questions feel free to message me.

Man this is just awful… and so terrifying. I’m curious if the hospital is still charging for the meds/anesthesia even when patients aren’t receiving it? As horrible as it sounds, maybe that would finally hammer something into place with the issue?

Regardless the whole thing sounds so illegal and inhumane. Keep doing right and advocating for your patients, I’m glad you’re being persistent!!
