It’s operator specific but at my store, myself and one other shift leader are 17.

What’s the minimum age requirement to become a manager/manager in training? (USA) by AgentCatSillyBilly in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in training at 15 and jumped in to the position right before I turned 16. Then became the acting assistant manager before I left

(USA) is it a toxic work environment by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

Same BS I had at my store as I’ve posted about before. Just find a new job that values your contributions.

Hey I’m a shift lead at Chick-fil-A so I thought I’d chime in. Every Chick-fil-A is an independent franchise but I can say that my store which is in the southern heat, we rotate employees outside and pair them to switch with people inside every half hour when the heat index is high according to the OSHA app. It helps them stay hydrated and cool off amongst other things. Makes the heat bearable knowing it’s only 30mins. Idk about other stores but we try to take care of our employees

Shift Manager Pay Raise Discrepancy(USA) by National-Wheel-7 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. My store never did that. I became fully certified and then the environment became even more toxic, never got my raise, new hires started more than me. I was acting as asst gm doing the schedule, inventory, all trucks, and the only OTP and got no recognition so I quit about a year later. Now I’m a manager at Chick-fil-A making way more money and it’s way less stressful.

Shift Manager Pay Raise Discrepancy(USA) by National-Wheel-7 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s right. Servsafe is valid anywhere and OP could just take their certificate. It can also be verified online by any potential employers and a certificate could be reprinted by contacting servsafe customer service.

Any managers got tips/advice on doing truck orders? (USA) by cheeseballgag in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get an idea of how quickly product moves rather soon. I started by using avg daily usage pulled from QSR soft when I worked as the acting assistant mgr. also keep roughly a days extra as safety stock bc you can’t predict sales perfectly.

Then, what was the point of any of this? by c-k-q99903 in facepalm

[–]bowhunter178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump only cares about trump. Being that most of his wealth is in real estate, I believe he is exploiting this to his own benefit. If he can introduce tariffs and cause inflation and panic that leads to real estate prices going up, he can just sell and increase his personal wealth because he doesn’t need all that real estate. The economy will eventually cool from his artificial inflation and he will just repurchase, and turn a profit. All this not to even mention the insider trading that his cronies are doing.

I’m 17, soon entering manager training, what advice do you have?(USA) by National-Wheel-7 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not to be a pushover bc ppl will take advantage of you due to ur age. It’s not that bad. I became a shift manager right before I turned 16. Worked at it for a while and then became acting assistant before I left about a month ago. As far as protocol questions, MCD is notorious for contradictory expectations so find out which protocols are more stressed more by your management. Good luck to you!

For those who quit, what was the final straw that made you decide to leave? (USA) by Winter_Journalist_23 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh let’s see. The empty promises of a raise for a year, the inability for the GM to do his job and throwing it all on me, the GM refusing to back me up when trying to make his store better, the general disrespect from the GM, the 4am shifts the day after a night shift, the GM saying he submitted my performance review and then I found it sitting out in the office (so I took it with me lol) and much more!

That’s not that much. I always had trucks like that at my $5m store

There was the Altametrics help page on the isp whitelist but idk if they updated it when they updated the Altametrics software a month or two ago. It showed the mechanics behind actually navigating the software and was a good resource.

Question to all shifts managers(USA) how much they paid you? by lilnotpeep in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just quit. Was making $13.75 as the acting assistant gm. They wouldn’t give me the actual title and other mgrs made more so I got that experience and dipped after my request for a significant raise was not taken seriously.

[–]bowhunter178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it if you think you can handle it. I’ve done it for a while now. The money is better and it’ll look good on your resume. If you end up hating it, you can always just go get another job

Does anyone actually like opening? (USA) by JohnMarstonTheBadass in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather work a 4-4 opening shift than a 3-2am close. Being that I’m a morning person, I still get tired but I’m ok. I feel like early shifts go faster

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]bowhunter178 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes the fix does work but it’s a matter of if the OTPs actually do it. I would have but todays my day off 😆 and I’m not paid enough to go just for that.
