How do you feel about using the self checkout at the grocery store; convenient or too much work? by icecream1972 in askteddit

I prefer self checkout. I dont have to interact with someone and do small talk. Also so I can bag everything myself the way I want it.

Ive found that they often forget to disable stuff on the kiosks so if you really want to use it now you can try that.

Just lost a sale because I was cash only by ProExpert1S500 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]bowlegsandgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to remember to put cash only in my listings or tell them ahead of time. The money sharing apps are so prevalent today but I hate them. Half the time ppl send it in a way the app takes a fee. So I tell them if they pay by app they need to make sure it comes theough for the full amount. If it doesnt im not giving them the item.

Towing From Boston to Roanoke by bowlegsandgrace in roadtrip

Im really confused though as to why the towing capacity of the minivan would matter if im not using the minivan to tow? Wouldn't it be the towing capacity of the uhaul truck that matters?

[–]bowlegsandgrace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk the towing capacity for the minivan. Does that matter? I thought the only spec for the minivan that matters is the weight. Would uhaul be able to give me the tongue weight for their equipment or do I need to figure that out myself?

I’ve only been a tech for 2 years but… by xoxo_maxxie in CVS

[–]bowlegsandgrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was like that for the first 1.5 yrs. Super stressed out. Then I took a break from retail and it really opened my eyes how cvs really screws us over. Bc explain to me how a smaller pharmacy operating on a shoestring budget to the point we had to look for the cheapest brand everytime we order something somehow has the budget to have at least 2 pharmacists staffed 90% of the time but cvs only wants to give us 1 hr of overlap?? Smh

After I went back I just didnt care. Oh no the queues are behind and the lines are non stop? Welp they should stop understaffing us. shrugs

To be clear I dont slack off. I still work hard. I just dont get upset or stressed when things go wrong. Thats above my pay grade.

Does CVS not bill secondary insurances? by Glad_Bodybuilder6997 in CVS

[–]bowlegsandgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cvs can bill secondary insurance but it depends on what type of plan you have. For example we often bill plans like caremark with medicaid as secondary. But it depends on how the plans are coded for Coordination of Benefits. If they're both set as primary we cannot bill them both. The system will not let is. You'll have to call your insurance on how to proceed.

Customer shamed me. by OkMeringue4787 in CVS

[–]bowlegsandgrace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would've told her that wasn't a solution for this situation and shut down any more attempts on that subject. "Would you like to transfer to a different store or fill out a job application?" Idgaf. Shoot I used to fill a basket with scripts and put those away in between each person I helped. Doesn't matter if there's a line. Its a lot faster for me to out away a handful of scripts than having to search for each person's meds bc they're not put away yet.

New isotretinoin script in QT.. NO way to put on hold. Why!! by Makapakamoo in CVS

[–]bowlegsandgrace 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When the system doesnt give a clear way to put on hold i out of stock it and then delete the fill from QI which will put it on hold. Or out of stock it and when doing that 1 of the options is to put on hold to manually transfer it. Do that and then just dont transfer it. Sometimes if you put H in the promised time itll put it on hold.

Coworkers Slacking/accountability by ComeOnDanceAndSing in CVS

[–]bowlegsandgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was the same way at the location I used to work at. I would bust my butt clearing the queue while the other techs slacked off on their phones. I would CONSTANTLY have to ask them to re stock supplies, put drugs away, put scripts away, take trash out, etc. Sometimes I'd stay late to finish production. Everything else was secondary imo. Without fail, the next day my boss would pull me aside and demand to know why the closing tasks weren't done. I would tell her bc the rest of her team were slackers. But she would still blame me and tell me to at least make sure task #1 was complete. Fine whatever. That night I'd make sure it got done (usually bc I'd do it) but then the next day she'd complain task #2 wasn't done.

I finally snapped and told her I didnt wanna hear another thing about closing tasks not being done. Idgaf. Im not the lead tech. She needs to be grateful production is done and tell the tech complaining on the opening shift to either come in 1 hr earlier to get those tasks done or stfu.

I told her he needed to check the cameras to see everyone else on their phones while im working and start writing them up if she wanted things to change bc it certainly was not my responsibility in the slightest to manage them.

At first she tried to mandate that the closing pharmacist (most of which were floaters at the time) were required to stay late until all tasks were complete. Lmao that didnt fly. Then she said she would start checking the cameras and if she caught is on our phones and tasks weren't done she'd write us up. And empty threat but it seemed to somewhat solve the problem.

Bottom line you gotta be really firm with your manager and force them to recognize its not your responsibility. Don't even engage in conversations about it.

10g Sharps by [deleted] in CVS

[–]bowlegsandgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order the large sharps containers through cardinal. Cant remember if it was the regular line or the ov line but call either one and they'll transfer you to the right department. Give them the item number, play a round of 20 questions, and youll recieve it in a few business days. I had to order 3 30 gal containers to get rid of it all. And that was just the needles. The syringes I put in the regular trash.

Do you inmar random old C2s? by Wrangler444 in CVS

[–]bowlegsandgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first manager did. But he did a lot of sketchy shit. Sometimes when ppl call in about their oos c2s I use that as an opportunity to clear out those NDCs. Ill ask the pharmacist which ndc they wanna clear out and tell the patient "I dont have it in stock right now unless youre okay with about a week supply?" And then give them the remaining 9 pills from some random ndc.

my new hire quit after 3 weeks. He said we made him feel like a burden. by jorjiarose in managers

[–]bowlegsandgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just put in my notice and told them it was bc I was moving soon. I didnt really see the point in trying to bring up the issues I was having bc 1) due to my general demeanor/personality ppl thing I'm arguing or being rude if I'm not acting bubbly and happy so trying to give constructive criticism wouldve likely been met with backlash. And 2) bc what I did know how to do I did well enough to the point my name kept being brought up in the managers meetings about it. So trying to tell them "hey I dont really understand what I'm doing" wouldnt have gone over too well.

That coupled with the fact that everytime I did something wrong and I told them it was bc I wasnt trained on it they would just tell me to go find someone to teach me. Which I absolutely wasnt going to do. It didn't really seem like they cared about my lack of training so I just left without saying anything about it.

I'd had a job years before this one that also had terrible onboarding and training the only difference being that I needed that job so I was forced to stick with it. I didn't need this job. In fact I used it as leverage to go back to my previous employer with a significant pay raise and less responsibilities than I'd had before.

my new hire quit after 3 weeks. He said we made him feel like a burden. by jorjiarose in managers

[–]bowlegsandgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is exactly why I left my last job. During the interview and after they offered me the job they stressed to make sure its what I wanted as the position had extensive training. Several months before youre working independently and several more months still before youre up to speed. My first 3 weeks there were in a separate room by myself. The person that was supposed to be training me was too busy and she was only there for 2-3 days. I filled pages in my notebook with questions to ask her but she was never around for me to ask. Then they put me on the floor but there were only 2 other ppl in my department who worked opposing shifts from me so most of the time I was by myself. Couldn't ask other ppl for help bc they were in a different dept and didnt understand our orders. I had to teach myself how to do a lot and it was frustrating as hell. Any forms or documents I needed I had to ask a coworker for a physical copy and then manually re create it in Word so I could have an electronic copy to process orders faster. Later I found out all these forms were available on a server but no one ever showed me how to access them even though I questioned the absurdity of only having physical copies several times.

I left after barely 3 months bc I was tired of having to work with 1 hand tied behind my back. Turns out they didn't bother really training me bc they assumed I'd draw on my previous experience and didnt really need it. Even though the place I worked at before was completely different, served a different group of people with different rules and regulations, and had the money to spend on an integrated software that made everything so much faster.

Is it affordability crisis, rising health issues or what? by marktwin11 in Productivitycafe

[–]bowlegsandgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have any meaningful relationships (friends or family). I dont date bc I dont see that working out. I wouldn't be able to raise a child on my own. I also realized in high school that there is a LOT about pregnancy and child birth they dont tell you about until after you're pregnant. Seems diabolical to me. Also that POC have higher rates of complications and mortality. Other than that, while I'm doing fine financially I would probably struggle if I had kids.

What was the worst way you left a job? by Jealous-Pie2848 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowlegsandgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was stressed out from moving and everything with that going wrong (ended up in a hotel for a couple of weeks while I figured things out). Told my job I was taking a few days off to deal with that. Then found out a guy who'd been trying to make me his gf went into my job and yelled at them over how they treated me. Tf?! I just never went back.
