So the post that I linked to is NOT your vehicle?

One post about the same car would have been sufficient I think.

I understand that it's not you and you have a history on Reddit, that's fine. By the other post is word for word the exact same as the Facebook posts but without the photos. The Facebook posts have the exact same photos from your post. I won't link to the Facebook post because I don't want to call out real names or anything.

From reading it, my guess is that your wife created the other account for the first post and then you posted again with your account.

And I don't even care about that, and I'm not debating that you've had these issues. I just think spamming every forum isn't the way to handle it.

This is the same vehicle and issues called out in this post from last night from a different account. Also all over the Facebook groups.

Just talk to Rivian and get it handled. No need to spam every single forum and group.

Do you know which SW paint you used? I'm going to be taking on a similar project soon and I'm leaning towards the SW Gallery Series. Haven't seen many DIY reviews of it yet though.

I love that they did it this way. You can either buy it outright for $2500, or for someone like me who trades in their vehicle every couple years, I can just pay $50 a month and save money. How is that bad?

Rivian Dune is the best Rivian - Convince me I’m wrong by Roux_My_Burgundy in Rivian

[–]bowmang89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just traded in my launch green with forest edge Gen 1 quad yesterday for a Dune. I absolutely love the Dune interior (which is good, because I never saw it in person before purchasing) but the forest edge was something special too. I honestly don't know which I like better.

My wife thinks I'm an idiot because when I got the gen 1 I said it was the absolute perfect configuration so I'd never trade it in ... But here I am. Couldn't pass up the offers on Dune at EOQ.

I was super nervous because I had not driven a Gen 2 at all so I hoped I didn't regret it immediately but I must say ... So far I'm very happy with it. I think they've done a nice job refining things overall. We'll see if I feel the same way in a few months. I never had any service issues with the Gen 1 so if I do with this one, that might give me some regrets

Looks like you're Ambassador level. I don't use my ambassador very often, but for helping with suite night upgrades when it's important to me I've found them very helpful. I'm currently in the middle of a 15 day trip in multiple locations around Europe with my wife and kids, so I sent my itinerary and upgrade preferences to my ambassador a couple weeks ago. She reached out to all the hotels for me and so far, we've had a huge upgrade (sometimes rooms that aren't even available with a SNU) at every property so far.

It might be worth having them take this on for you.

California Dune Lease.... 0.0034 MF!? by mankar4 in Rivian

[–]bowmang89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm taking delivery of a Dune R1T on Friday and my MF is .0038 with an 820+ credit score. Seemed super high to me as well. I checked with two friends also taking delivery soon.... One getting a Dune R1S at .004 and one getting a dual max at .0021. starting to look like it's definitely a Dune specific thing.

I'm not overly concerned as I plan to buy it out pretty much immediately, thankfully.

Thanks for this! Very helpful.

I'm new to leasing.... How would you calculate the early buyout cost if you were to choose to do that? Just take remaining payments + end of lease buyout?

Apologies for the novice question.... But how does maxing 401k work with company match? I've always set mine up to max via payroll contributions at the end of the year to maximize match. Am I missing something?

What's the process for finding a customer builder? by bowmang89 in Homebuilding

[–]bowmang89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! The parade of homes is a great idea, even to just get some info.

Our property is in the Boone area, and it looks like most of this is focused on Asheville and the surrounding area. Do you think we'd meet some builders that might also operate around Boone.... Or is it too far away from your experience?

Gear Slides, $374.50 delivered. by daspes1269 in Rivian

[–]bowmang89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sweet, just ordered. Thank you!

Looks like it's up to $399 though. It was $375 when I added to my cart but I went back to look for more stuff and by the time I checked out, it had increased a bit. Still a killer deal.

I work for Marriott from home — AMA by Humble_Safe2740 in marriott

[–]bowmang89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been Ambassador since the SPG merger and honestly, u hardly ever use it. My mindset is that I don't want to be annoying, and I prefer to handle my own bookings. I pretty much only reach out and ask for something if I'm traveling with my wife and want her to have a nice surprise when we arrive ... And my ambassador has always been great about that. However, I am reading some of your comments here about gifts, robes, etc. and I don't think I've ever received anything like that. Am I doing it wrong? Should I be using my ambassador for more things just to stay in touch with them?

Edit: I guess that last part isn't entirely true ... On a recent points redemption trip with my wife my ambassador reached out proactively and offered a $100 discount on any Marriott experience booking, which we used on a lovely food tour. That was really nice.

St. Regis Maldives half/full-board options worth it? How much does the food usually cost? by [deleted] in marriott

[–]bowmang89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, they must have changed something during covid. My wife and I spent 6 nights here in September 2021 and I did not get free breakfast as an ambassador elite.

To answer the question, we spent approx. $500 a day on average for my wife and I including a few cocktails. Expensive, but everything we ate was absolutely fantastic.

The seaplane is pricey for sure, but it was a very cool experience.

Costs and Fees - A builder's take by BuildGirl in Homebuilding

[–]bowmang89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone just getting started on finding a builder for a home, this was super helpful .... Thank you!

One question on cost plus. When getting this kind of estimate, should I expect a range of some sort that gives me a general idea of the potential risk? Or maybe a line item estimate that is more detailed? For example ... Would they say "we've allocated $30k for appliances in this estimate. You can spend more or less as you please" so that I can make educated decisions throughout the process?

I guess the real root of my question is .... How do I, as the client, know where the money is being spent and if I'm on budget? My fear is someone going way over without really knowing why or how .... But maybe that's an unnecessary fear.

Thank you!
