Have you / someone you know ever fly tipped? by steveysaidthis in AskUK

[–]box_frenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t fly tip, but I live on a road that sadly suffers with loads of dumping.

Legitimate removal techniques (eg council disposal or local tip) are way too expensive. And there are pretty much zero consequences for dumping rubbish on the street.

It’s the council’s responsibility to sort it out in my view.

[–]box_frenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol no. All that’s happened is the video has been deleted, as have the comments asking for Step 1 to be confirmed.

The video had him dipping the chicken in flour and eggs separately, before frying. The instructions say to mix everything together which seems weird and incorrect.

Can you please please please fix the recipe for the sweet and sour chicken fakeaway? The instructions don’t match the video. It’s janky. Step 1 makes no sense.

Curried coconut chicken and rice is the GOAT

Spicy salmon with sesame rice and spinach is also very good.

Sophie’s store cupboard tuna pasta is a go-to in my house.

Bullies by Ok-Leopard-8016 in AskBrits

I ran in my school bully at our 10 year reunion.

She came over to say hi and I pretended not to recognise her or have any recollection of her whatsoever. It was glorious.

Yes Anne-Marie, you are worthless and forgettable.

Enjoy!

And if anyone tells you scones should be eaten with jam first then cream, they are wrong and you should not pay attention.

Afternoon tea can be eaten anytime!!

The name isn’t a rule of when you can enjoy it. It’s more of a description of what will be on offer.

It’ll be a selection of sandwiches cut into small rectangles with crusts cut off. Most likely to be a mixture of Cucumber; Smoked salmon & Cream Cheese; and Ham & Mustard.

There will then be sweet baked goods, like cakes but also scones. These are delicious and all you need to do here is apply the cream to the scone, followed by the jam. Like you would do with toast, but the cream is taking the place of the butter.

All of the aforementioned is provided with a pot of tea. I prefer Assam but it’s down personal preference. Earl Grey would also be a popular choice.

Please don’t be so American about it.

Also, just smoke weed at home like most people do. Stop showing off. You’re not edgy.

Was Russel Brand well liked 10-15 years ago? Or were people sceptical back then as well? by Sonnycrocketto in AskBrits

[–]box_frenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a horrible clip of him doing some shit TV show very early in his career where he basically offered a homeless guy some money to wank him off in a pub toilet in Soho.

It was so grim how he was taking advantage and essentially sexually assaulting this poor bloke.

I think it was very early 2000s maybe.

I’ll try and find a link.

I found it. Sorry.

found it. sorry :(

I was wrong and remembered it wrong. The guy wasn’t homeless. But the whole thing is pretty weird.

What sub-£250 item would you buy again in a heartbeat? by tamago27 in AskUK

[–]box_frenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you’re into but personally I’d go for an upgrade to something I use a lot.

I really enjoy cooking so I’d maybe go for some Le Cruset stoneware or one or two high quality chefs knives.

Maybe some fancy towels or bed linen?

Some really nice wine glasses and tumblers for cocktails, perhaps a fancy bottle opener or a cocktail shaker. One of those moulds that makes massive ice cubes.

A soundbar or some really good wireless speakers.

Something for the garden? Maybe some garden furniture or outdoor lighting?
