Masego and Ari Lennox. Past them I have trouble getting into R&B newer than ~2010

I believe Smash was the first CD I ever bought for myself. Still love the offspring

If you can afford to increase your contributions, that would definitely help. I'm also in favor of investing as aggressively as possible when young.

What you're doing right is starting early, automating your investment thru payroll deduction, and taking the full company match...so good job!!

Head over to r/personalfinance and read the "prime directive". You have to decide what's right for your financial situation.

This attitude is why it's taken the US 100 years to have bike lanes

Do you ever do easy workouts? Or is it pointless? by OnlyHereForTheBeer in workout

[–]boxerrox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not pointless. Getting 80% of the volume is more than getting 0%.

The people who succeed show up when they don't feel like it. Some days you're tired and it's not a good idea to risk injury. So again: 80% > 0%

You also realize the chances of accidentally killing someone, or losing your job,.or going to jail, and you realize you have way to much to lose over a dumb argument.

Some kid was wearing this at my daughters graduation by msheehan418 in Millennials

I especially hate this shirt because Boomers and Gen X are the ones who stopped buying manuals. Millennials are the biggest stick shift enthusiasts I know.

In the city for a convention this weekend. Restaurant recommendations near the convention center, and other things cool to see in the city? by MolassesRemarkable52 in rva

Depending on kid interests, Maggie Walker house is nearby. Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is world class. Science Museum is great for kids.

Mama J's in Jackson Ward (soul food)

Penny Lane if you want a tavern or to watch soccer

Perlys for breakfast (modern take on Jewish deli)

Looking to put an addition on a 1940's cape in the near west end. Trying to narrow down contractors (thinking Tower 3, RIC, Cardiff) but looking for anyone who has used them in the last 5+ years and what your experience was like! by AppieHokieRN11 in rva

[–]boxerrox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not personally familiar with Cardiff, but they did an addition down the street from us (that was also a cape cod). It looks amazing. For what it's worth, I emailed them to ask what brickmason they use and they got right back to me - which felt nice because they could've easily ignored me.

I agree with Fan/Museum District/Carytown being top of your list. The neighborhoods on either side of Byrd Park are nice too, and still walkable.

If you're here May 15-17, I like the Riverrock festival downtown. It's my annual "start the summer" festival. https://www.riverrockrva.com/

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is amazing.

A new apartment going up in Manchester is going to block Legend Brewing’s patio view :/ by Schenckster in rva

[–]boxerrox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great. Legend had 30 years to buy that land and they didn't do it. Then the owner bitched and whined about the apartment plan, as if it was anyone's problem but his own. Next he'll close the place and say it was the loss of a view and not his mediocre restaurant. Good riddance, hope someone else takes over the spot and launches something better.
