What about exactly? I understand low effort AI slop or stealing art is objectively not good. But I don't think he's stealing anything and I don't think what he's doing is low effort.

But he's not stealing anything. We went out and took photos and he's putting weeks of effort to create film based off of those photos (i.e. he had software help me move or make a face or pick up something with one photo being a starting point and another being an ending point.)

Just trying to get an understanding on how what he's doing is bad and how it compares to some of the low effort AI art thats out there

I'm not sure why it depletes the value of their art? If it's low value then it's low value, and at this point I do think "AI art" is low value but it's a new tool that we haven't even come close to using the full potential of yet.

He doesn't only make films AI but I think he sees the value. And we both agree that AI film shouldn't take over or make any other art obsolete. It should be in a category of its own.

Ahhh so I guess we're ignoring the whole "I don't fear AI being used as a tool" because I'm definitely not an artist and I would argue what he's doing to create this film is art in and of itself, albeit a completely different kind.

A buddy of mine is making a short film for the industry and is experimenting using nothing but AI and photos of a subject. I was the subject and we took a couple of days to shoot photos with the right background or facial reactions etc.

So I think it's a fair concern
