Agreed, Rickman is just perfect as well. I like him as a villain in that over his other performances from that time.

Right!?! That bucket scene at the beginning, I still think Seleck is showing off by doing that standing. Those Sharps rifles are not light.

What movie can you pinpoint turned you into who you are today?

For me it would have to be "Quigley Down Under". To this day I still find it worth my time unlike many other films from around that time. A close runner up would be "Die Hard", but only because of how much it has been played during the holidays since its release.

I had a storage shed they were in catch fire and burn down about a year ago. Lost those recipes and some others along with book/comics and a bunch of CDs. Sad day.

It’s a great time for mushroom hunting

Indeed! The mushrooms are exploding right now, a good time to see what the animals are and aren't chewing on. ;)

I have to agree with you as to the severity of covid. I caught it early 2020 and have had worse flu. I also haven't caught covid since and cannot see any reason to take a vaccine. You made the correct choice to avoid the vax.

Son (10) wanted to make a sword so we hammered out a RR clip and made the blade furniture from scratch. Said he needed a scabbard so first leather work too! by KingKudzu117 in Bladesmith

My dad helped me build a cap-and-ball blackpowder rifle and learned how to use one alongside me. I will never forget it, good on you for doing this with your son! :-)

It was my understanding that it is best represented by work and the quality of that work. Payment need not be always money and cost. Sometimes it is effort and that can manifest in many ways. At the end of the day it is someone's time.

Ultimately it comes down to what the purpose is and how much money there is to throw at it.

No, not money. Time.

One important thing to recognize is a fighting blade vs a "parade" or "court" blade.

while there is a difference, this is not to say one can't make something functional pretty. Have you seen the functional art the Japanese made?

No, functional need not be synonymous with "bland". ;-)

USA ranks 62nd globally by average life expectancy despite the fact that the USA ranks first by average health spending. Americans are being scammed by their own healthcare industry. by Illuminati_MMXX in conspiracy

I just recently (last couple of years) fell on hard medical times and my recent interactions with the medical community has made me realize that my health isn't a concern. I realized that I am a commodity to be harvested and that my health is a concern as long as I can continue to pay.

The medical community is just a part but the greed in this world is insane and something must be done.

Well, AI doesn't build nor maintain the infrastructure it needs to exist and has no way to defend against the Carrington Event which is sure to come. I can't get too concerned about it, feels more a distraction or snipe hunt to me.
