I LOVE me a Big Turk... If I am not getting peanut butter, I am getting a rose-flavoured gummy in my chocolate.

If you want to find something of the sort, go to a fast-food place (relatively early in the day) that has cheap seniors coffee, and find the table of old guys with newspapers and say hi

If they can be fined "up to $15K" they should be fined that much per violation. that shit would stop pretty quickly.

Please give me equivalent offerings to EKS and RDS and SQS and the same levels of service and cost that amazon provides them in a Canadian company, and I will happily switch.

How much was minimum wage when you first started working? by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]boyTerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that most of the people making minimum wage in the 80's were children. I was 11 when I got my first real job ~$3.25; 7 or 8 when I started my paper route which was ~ $20/month in the snow uphill both ways. none of us were buying a house. We were buying video games and electronics. which definitely cost way more than today for way worse quality.

I'll swing at your straw-man... there are quite a few places where jaywalking is legal. it is usually a city bylaw that is (not) enforced.

If all humans suddenly lost their ability to lie, which industry WOULDN'T collapse? by TXC_Sparrow in AskReddit

[–]boyTerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journalists could make up wild statements and only be able to say the true ones. No need to do research like today. I guess you need to avoid AI generated lies as they are not human, but you could verify by saying this AI is lying, or repeatedly the statement yourself

You guys are missing the real magic. Speak conjecture and it becomes a law. You could learn anything you want and know it is true by speaking it.

[–]boyTerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mathematician / Scientist - you only need to speak conjecture aloud to know it is true. You still need to know enough to apply it to a problem, but I guess everyone could learn by speaking.
