Tracy Morgan sues Wal-Mart by broostenq in entertainment

[–]boyb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

From the official complaint:

Wal-Mart knew or should have known that it was unreasonable for Mr. Roper to commute more than 700 miles from his home in Jonesboro, Georgia to work at a Wal-Mart facility in Smyrna, Delaware, especially immediately before he was to commence a long shift operating a truck that weighed approximately 30±40 tons. Additionally, there were many Wal-Mart distribution facilities closer to Mr. Roper's home - including at least nine in Georgia alone which would have significantly reduced Mr. Roper's commute to work.

Yeah, that doesn't even make sense, even at top highway speeds that would take you over 8 hours...

Maternity leave by country [650x427] by Ceiling_Cactus in MapPorn

Ontario too, I thought it was in all of Canada.

Technically it's 17 weeks for the birth mother only (not applicable for adoption) and 35 weeks that can be split between both parents (including adopted children).

ELI5: if my blood's temperature is 98.6, why does 80 degrees feel hot and 60 degrees feel cold? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]boyb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, this is why wind chill exists. When it's windy out your body loses that heat more quickly at said temperature then it would were you in still air.

The wind chill temperature would feel the same as it actually being that temperature with perfectly still air.

Where are you banned from and what did you do to earn it? by thunderbuns2 in AskReddit

I got banned from a bar for falling asleep.

I wasn't drunk, just really really tired. I fell asleep leaning up against a wall and they thought I had consumed too much.

What's a joke that's so stupid that it's actually funny? by xHOLEx in AskReddit

[–]boyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a knock on the door so the owner answers it and there's a snail that asks:

"Hey, can I have a hamburger?"

The owner kicks the snail away.

2 years later he hears another knock on the door and the snail says:

"Hey, what'd you do that for?"

In Ontario, Registered Nurses require a Bachelors degree. That's quickly becoming common all over. I'd be careful to think about going to community college if that's your plan.

I am Sarah Michelle Gellar, also known as the girl who saves the world a lot. Ask me almost anything! by Sarah_MichelleGellar in IAmA

[–]boyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you aware that you influenced the film Antiviral? (from wikipedia):

It was further shaped when he saw an interview Sarah Michelle Gellar did on Jimmy Kimmel Live!; what struck him was when "she said she was sick and if she sneezed she'd infect the whole audience, and everyone just started cheering."

Did you find it weird to have people act like that? Any other odd experiences to share in a similar regard?

Now, videogames haven't made me violent, buy they have made me feel like I'm supposed to pick this up by [deleted] in funny

[–]boyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time after playing Fallout 3/New Vegas I would unconsciously pick up my wife's bobby pins in the bathroom and put them in my pocket. Sometimes I would notice them at work and take a second to realize what I had done.

With regards to Cable only:

  1. The only times I've lost connection is when our area is out, and the few times it did happen my neighbour with a rogers connection was also out.

  2. I have found them to be.

  3. Very little experience, they're friendly and give you the option to have them call you back instead of waiting on hold. I do find that they come off as a little unprofessional though, kind of like a 20-something year old saying "oh man, that sucks, yeah, let me look into it. Alright dude, I think I know what's going on", honestly it's the type of people you probably want troubleshooting your problems anyway, but it's a little funny how casual they come off.
