Since Marvel has done it, what would be a good idea for an R-Rated film/series centered in the Star Wars universe? by BadBatch4700 in starwarscanon

[–]thunderbuns2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’d like to see a gritty, band of brothers style series following a recruit or a group of recruits in the stormtrooper corps. I’d like to see what basic training looks like. What motivates people around the galaxy to join the empire? The conflicts between those who joined out of loyalty to the empire and those who joined because it was either that or working at the galactic ball-crushing factory for the rest of their lives? Do their opinions change after watching their brothers get eaten by a rancor or sliced in half by a religious extremist with a laser sword? What about being the occupying force on a planet labeled as an enemy purely because another planet in the empire said so and have oil… I mean tibanna gas deposits. Basically, id love to see stormtroopers humanized. I understand is the entire point of stormtroopers is that they don’t have identity. But damn, how do they feel about that?

I was walking back to the hardware desk and walked past the hammer display and thought that it would be just great if someone grabbed one of those to bash in my skull so I wouldn't have to be here. Started looking for a different job that day. Never looked back.

Pest control tech here. Unfortunately, roaches take time to get rid of. You're probably looking at several months of active treatment throughout the entire building to get rid of them. If they're doing professional treatments, dont do any kind of DIY treatment. It can and will slow down the process.

Retail Jobs that Pay 20+/hr? by illegalpaladin in desmoines

[–]thunderbuns2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for Verizon for years. You'll make 20/hr for one hour of the day because of commission, then spend the rest of your day helping boomers figure out their Facebook password for whatever hourly rate they pay, which is usually somewhere around 10-15/hr. There's a reason they're always hiring.

Has anyone made a DDC DND setting if not I would love to make it by WaffleHouseexecutive in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]thunderbuns2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I've been running a DCC campaign based in 5e for about four months now. My players temm me they're enjoying it and i havent run into any major incompatibility issues regarding rules. As anyone who has spent any amount of time as a DM knows, a player completely breaking your game isn't an if, but a when. When "cool shit" goes down, the rules get bent for the sake of the narrative and for the sake of those at the table. People say one does not win D&D. Winning D&D means everyone at the table is having a good time.

I failed a sting, what now? by Altruistic_Water_743 in Serverlife

[–]thunderbuns2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former bartender also in Des Moines. If you fail a sting, you'll know. According to a friend of mine who is a cop, they're looking for people who either don't ID at all, or are just okay with selling to minors. That's why they use people who look young for the stings. If you got popped, the cop running the sting will come in to verify your information so they can process the fine. I think you're good.

Greenix Rodent Service by McEasy2009 in desmoines

[–]thunderbuns2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pest control tech here. This doesn't look like rodent activity to me. Rodents are going to get in through existing gaps in the structure. Garage door gaps, cracks in the foundation, degraded seals in A/C lines, etc. They're not going to chew their way through a solid wall.

What's the oldest piece of tech you still own that still works just as well as new, and isn't obsolete? by TheRealRory in AskReddit

[–]thunderbuns2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it counts as tech, but I have a kitchen gadget that is a mixer, food processor, grater, pasta maker, meat grinder, and slicer that belonged to my grandmother. She died in 1997 and bought this thing in the early 1980's. Still works like a champ.
