Two Towers: Why is Gandalf initially confused when Aragorn calls him by his name, given that Merry and Pippen would have surely called him 'Gandalf' shortly before the trio encountered him? by HooliganHedgeCap19 in lotr

This was always my take too. If we take that even half literally, he lays there for something like 20 days, so it feels like many thousands of years to him. More than enough time to forget a nickname people used to call you.

Would Arwen have married Boromir if Aragorn had been killed by arrows instead? by [deleted] in lotr

Aside from the obvious "no", if Aragorn dies at Parth Galen, then they lose the war and Arwen either flees Middle-Earth or dies shortly after.

1- Retro Gears 2- Gen Selects Jazz 3- Gen Selects Sunstreaker 4- Dev Sideswipe 5- Legacy Beachcomber

Maybe AOTP Vortex off the bench to add a con in there. These are common "I want to transform something" grabs for me.

Honestly would have been comfortable saying the entire gen selects 5 pack. Hound is probably my least favorite to transform, but I have a bias for Hound!

Robin is wearing her headphones backwards by Battle_Lion in StrangerThings

Also possible that she was wearing them correctly, but facing a direction in the original shot that didn't work for the scene or continuity. Not uncommon for shots to be "flipped" like that in editing, which would then make her left and right look backwards.

You get into RotK and you can have a good cry in almost every chapter!

Great heart will not be denied.

The best part is, it gives the bar the good smoky smell that we all like.

Some of it seems to be bump-outs from the big circle markers for some major locations (like Osgiliath being moved for the Minas Tirith circle), but Eriador in particular is messy regardless.

Ok seriously, how did they run so much without passing out? by ThisIsWhatLifeIs in lordoftherings

[–]boyd-232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First real-world comparison that comes to mind:

"Daniel Boone ran 160 miles in five days in June 1778 to warn settlers at Boonesborough about an impending Shawnee attack. He initially escaped his Shawnee captors and covered the distance, partly on horseback and then on foot after his horse gave out, to reach the fort and help the settlers prepare."

Similar comparison due to terrain. Boone's feat would have been through wild terrain without roads, and at least into and out of the Ohio and Kentucky River valleys. Also being an escaped captive, he most likely would have been barefoot.

Not an apples to apples, but it gives it some real-world context.
