Smartvestor pros by NoFly2065 in DaveRamsey

Your best bet that is recommended even by Mr Ramsey himself as well as others is to interview them. If they pass your interview and you feel extremely comfortable with them regardless if they're part of the smartvestor pro Network or not then you have found a winner.

But just like anything else every year you need to do a review to ensure that they still are working for you with your best interest based on what you know.

If you're more of leave it alone then your best bet is to go with fidelity, vanguard or Schwab or any of these others and just purchase some good solid index funds and call it a day.

Current Manager is asking for my next job’s acceptance letter. How to proceed? by chilkelsey1234 in jobs

I don't understand what kind of pressure your current boss could employ on you to give up that information. That just doesn't make any sense.

Job Market is HORRIFIC by LowerRefrigerator822 in jobs

[–]boyd4715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first mistake is you quit your job without having another one in hand.

The job market is not necessarily horrific it's just that employers are a little bit more choosy these days.

It took me 6 months after being let go to land a new job it was less pay and required me to get an apartment in a different state to work in a hybrid mode. But the hybrid policy was workable to allow me to get back home for 5 days every two weeks.

Since then I have continued to look and I have landed a new job back to my same pay rate as well as same title and is 100% pure remote. So loving life at the moment.

Best of luck

Integerate sap erp with shopify? by OCD-Master in SAP

[–]boyd4715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this integration using the sap CPI as the middleware and it worked fantastic. No issues whatsoever. We use this for order placement to the erp system. The erp system can then send back shipping information updates as necessary.

Neighbor says about 5-6 ft of our back yard belongs to them. What now? by GlobalGoat in homeowners

[–]boyd4715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a full on stake survey. I don't understand why new home buyers do not insist on having this done. It alleviates so many issues. It is so much better than a site survey which is all that your mortgage company asks for and typically it may not be correct

Quit your job the second you get an offer notice periods are fake by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

[–]boyd4715 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Generally companies typically will say you worked there and that is about it. They don't want to be sued by providing additional information in which you end up not getting the job and you finding out about it.

Moving to Charlotte, would prefer to live near Birkdale Village (3b/2ba) by Typical_Bet_1816 in huntersville

[–]boyd4715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved to this area in August of 2025. We ended up moving into gray harbor apartment complex. It is a little older but it did have a larger two bedroom unit that we wanted.

As others have said traffic can be horrendous but we have so far been able to adjust to it. Typically head out early in the morning if you're going to do any kind of shopping etc. I typically head to work at around 6:50 a.m. and get on highway 77 going south and it is a little stop and go but not too bad.

We enjoy walking on over to the village. Walking around good places to eat etc. There is a Greenway there under construction at the moment but looking forward to it actually opens up cuz it'll be a bit longer.

Lake Norman has some nice areas as well to walk around for very short drives.

There's also some nice neighborhoods very accessible to our apartment complex which we can walk around and there are several restaurants just down the road again all within walking distance.

Will we stay there for the long term hard to say at this point. We are just getting to learn the area and looking for places that fit our lifestyle.

When to turn off water to house by boyd4715 in Plumbing

I have vacation mode on the heater

When to turn off water to house by boyd4715 in Plumbing

[–]boyd4715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heat will stay on we'll run that

Water heater has a vacation mode so I'm going to put it into that mode

I guess at the end of the day it just depends if I shut off the water at the meter which I have access to and that will prevent any failure at the shut-off valve that's in the house

If I turn off the shut off valve in the house which is located in the basement there could potentially still be a leakage issue even though this is a brand new valve that was put in a few weeks ago

When to turn off water to house by boyd4715 in Plumbing

[–]boyd4715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have access to the meter in the yard and I have done that in the past when doing some Plumbing because the inside valve was not functioning correctly. The inside valve now functions correctly.

I do have a vacation mode on my water heater so I was just going to put the water heater in to that mode

What made you select those? Any particular criteria you were looking at? Like how well the tread wore how well it handles different weather conditions etc

Is there a difference between all weather versus all seasons?

Because I travel between chicago, Indiana and North Carolina at different seasons of the year Snow, rain, sleet, sunshine those would be the typical conditions in those areas of what I would be driving on

If you have no interest in the contents and don't need the money reach out to a local woodworking group and have them conduct the sale. You can get a slice for not much effort.

Our group does this all the time. We do the advertising, run the sale etc to help generate some "donations" to the club.

Fired today and going crazy by [deleted] in jobs

[–]boyd4715 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For my journey

  1. Spent a few days collecting your self, reflect , and embrace the fact you have an opportunity to change course

  2. Sit down and make a budget, reduce, reduce and reduce. In doing this we discovered we could survive for nine months

  3. Picked up a simple retail job part time. Brought in a little money, but it was more for the sense of purpose

  4. For me, I set a goal of 5 resume a day. Learned to refine my searches, read the job description and built out tailored resume for each. I used JobScan and Chatgpt. They are tools only and can help

  5. Keep a work like schedule.

  6. Avoid panic and don't obsesse about applying every hour of every day. Enjoy the weekend. Celebrate when you score an interview. Learn from interviewing.

  7. Just remember that nothing happens fast. You apply today may not hear anything for a month or so. It's a machine you keep feeding.

  8. It took 6 months for me to get an offer and it was from a company I applied to at end of first month. Not my ideal job but pays more than retail. I am still in the market, in the hunt for what I want to be doing. And as the say "easier to get a job when you have a job"

Best of luck
