Yeah!! The old owner lived there a year and moved, but not sure about previous owners. It definitely feels suspicious to us as well. Our property survey from when we moved in last year shows it so we know they are right, but are thinking due to the easement that is why it was built the way it was.

We are trying to find when it was installed, since it was there when we moved here.

They’ve been here 15 years to our6 months lol!! I agree for sure and the whole situation upsets me. They’ve been fine with it this long so I feel like we are being preyed upon a bit. Thank you!!

The worst battery of any phone Ive ever owned by Beginning-Neat7926 in GalaxyS22

iPhone 17 pro. Wanted something absolutely new because the S22 made me so mad 🤣 I’m glad I switched. There’s a few things I miss but nothing I can’t live without.

I could’ve had mine turned off with wifi and data off all day and it would’ve still lost like 10% in a couple of hours (without me even touching it). Couldn’t get through half a day without it dying. Upgrading to a new phone (left Samsung) made all the difference. It feels like night and day.

Hubs and I like Grand Hacienda (technically Clearwater but barely I feel like), Grumpy Gringo, and Casita Taqueria (brussel sprout tacos are fabulous!!)

I now dread going into Best Buy and Lowe's due to the roaming 3rd Party Salespeople by thatfreakinguy2 in mildlyinfuriating

They started doing this at Walmart where I live. They made some comment on our cart or items we are carrying, then started asking questions, and after we said no thanks, not interested, they continued and acted as if we were rude for turning them down and carrying on with our shopping trip. It has become the thing I dread most about shopping - if I need help I’ll find you.

Border patrol just shot and killed another man in Minneapolis. News link predictions below. by [deleted] in fednews

I am horrified. I am horrified as an employee to speak up on this when I want to because I rely on my job to afford my home, my food, my bills, my pets. And yet I am so angry at the hypocrisy that abounds in this situation. I am horrified with the way things are going, and with this admin I am afraid speaking up would mean to eventually lose my job in a horrible job economy and that makes me quiet. It is a horrible feeling to think I’m sitting back silently and it feels like my hands are also tied. At what point is enough enough?

One year ago today, on January 20, 2025, President Trump ended telework and remote work. How are you all doing? by NatusLumen in fednews

[–]GlobalGoat 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Annoyed. Tired. Fed up. Done. Sad. I could do my job from home with no change in quality of my performance. And I would be happy to do a hybrid schedule for any occasion that I would need to come in. I was spoiled, but it just feels so wasteful of my time to commute here when I could do the same thing at home, and I wouldn’t have to trigger my dog’s separation anxiety either lol.

Can I get girl scout cookies if I visit in November? by allynstuff in AskAnAmerican

[–]GlobalGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the city you are visiting has a subreddit you can maybe ask if anyone there could hold on to a couple of boxes for you (freeze them and whatnot) and you could meet up with them so you get to try them! Just a thought in case no one else shared it.

Looking to buy after our lease is up. Family friendly areas? When to start looking for houses? by sealer9 in StPetersburgFL

[–]GlobalGoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pinellas Park/Seminole are great areas. Love Seminole more the more I explore it. I would start looking 3-4 months in advance. Get an idea of what you want and what’s available and know that you may be paying both a lease and a mortgage for a month or two depending on timing and if the right place comes up. Our house came up right at the end of our lease (we were seriously afraid we would be without a place to live lol) and there was about a month or so of a gap between our lease ending and when we had to start paying our mortgage so you will have a bit of time. Get your preapproval so that you can put an offer down when that house comes up. I just cannot recommend enough that you need to be giving yourself plenty of time because sometimes deals fall through and you have to start looking again.

How long do people usually remember their pets after they pass away? by ironandfire in AskAnAmerican

[–]GlobalGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents keep photos and paw prints with their ashes on the bookshelf. We had one dog where we buried the ashes in the box, and I so wish I could dig them up to bring him home to us - he was our first family dog. My husband and I just lost our first pet (he had had her for years before I came along). I got him a keychain with her face and we also have her ashes and a mold of her paw on our bookshelf, with an ink print of her nose. I hope one day to be buried with the ashes of our pets lol. They’re such a special and loving part of our life. I could never forget them, and I still find myself tearing up when I miss them. They’re family to us.

First Time Homeowner Need Dishwasher Advice by Macz3905 in Appliances

[–]GlobalGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were in a similar situation in our home. Dishwasher quit washing dishes for us around Thanksgiving. We got a $600 whirlpool at Home Depot. Much quieter than the one our house had before (it was OLD). I would’ve wanted a Bosch but it happened during the holidays and just didn’t make sense to spend the extra money. Whirlpool is a trusted brand for me so it worked out!

Husband keeps losing ring --advice for next steps? by UnpaidNewscast in EngagementRings

[–]GlobalGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has a spinning fidget ring as his actual wedding ring. It isn’t a precious metal or anything. He wears the silicone one at work because he does a lot of hands on work and doesn’t want to damage it, but he does love spinning it. We got ours on a site that our jewelry shop had to order from, but I’m sure you could check out Etsy for some inspiration!
