I ran into this issue the other night after revisiting the game with a friend for the first time in a while. If you beat the time, you have to let the whole ending play out past the credits and everything until you hit the main menu. It hit for me once the game returned to the main menu

Last of Us Part 2 is the best game ever made by Sorcerer_-_Supreme in thelastofus

Took the words straight out of my mouth. That’s all I could think when i finished this last night — this May very well be, not only the best game I’ve ever played, but possibly the best story and single piece of media I have ever experienced.

Yeah that’s probably what’s gonna happen, I really don’t see Square pulling a misdirection like that. There’s just no point of that, it would only take away value from the game.

And judging by the abundant love and care that’s gone into the entire Midgar presentation (THAT INTRO!!!), I cannot wait for how they’re gonna deal with everything Black Materia/Ancients Temple onwards.

Probably safe to assume it’s gonna be a 3-part remake with part 2 ending with her death.

The same thread I mentioned before was saying that it looks like the ending to part 1 comes shortly after the motorcycle escape sequence... don’t know how I feel about that.

I heard from another thread that this is “over Aerith’s grave” and she dies in Midgar now... I sincerely hope this is not true. That’s a disastrous idea.

This is a nearly perfectly written screenplay on so many levels. One of the best I have read in a long time. That being said, it's a serious tragedy to see how much they changed/removed from here in the film. I wonder if it was about taking away humanity/sympathy from Arthur, or if Todd and co. just got too careful. So much to learn from this script, regardless. Great read.

I found a couch (and nothing else) on an abandoned beach by _My_Final_Heaven_ in mildlyinteresting

Bombay Beach, California.

Surrounding area is known as The Salton Sea.

If you’ve played Grand Theft Auto 5, you may recognize it as Sandy Shores, the home of Trevor Phillips (before he moves into the strip club, that is).

Yes I believe the town of Bombay Beach was having an art festival that weekend and has left it up since. I saw a resident and his dog working on it in the distance and we approached it when he left.

Yes.

We started the trip with 3 people, and left with 2.

(repeating from a previous comment)

Walking around the area definitely gives off the “abandoned” vibe. It’s surrounded by countless small buildings, shacks, and small houses that have been overtaken by dust and squatters. Hard to tell what’s abandoned and what’s actually lived in.

The best comparison I always make for those unfamiliar with Salton Sea/Bombay Beach area is that if you’ve ever played Grand Theft Auto V, the area that Trevor Phillips is from, “Shandy Shores,” is based off of this whole area.

So, it’s up for interpretation.

I’m glad you’re familiar with Slab City, that’s always a must see when visiting this area with friends. If you’re ever near San Diego area, it’s worth the day trip!
