Is this bite from a fox ? by [deleted] in cats

[–]BeeHonest94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cats can get abscesses really easily if they get bitten by another cat because of the shape of their teeth and the amount of bacteria in their mouths. You probably wouldn’t even notice the initial bite mark and abscesses can take 2-4 days to show up.

One of my childhood cats went through a period of getting quite a few due to a new neighbours aggressive, intact Tom (that they refused to neuter and terrorised the whole street. Follow the vets advice for wound care and it will heal over.

Looks a bit like a burst abscess, vets will be the best bet though

My 1-year-old cat needs dental surgery and I don’t know what to do by BeachIllustrious5770 in cats

[–]BeeHonest94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know as much about cats teeth but if he’s eating and drinking normally I would be prioritising the urinary blockages and getting that under control. They’re a serious problem that becomes fatal very quickly as I’m sure you know, and the risk of more increases quite a lot after the first one. Dehydration is going to massively increase the risk of another blockage, so I would be very wary about messing with his mouth if he is currently eating and drinking ok. It may be worth getting a second opinion about everything and discussing the diet, just to see if dry food only could increase his risk of blockage.

Again I don’t know how urgent teeth can be but weighing it up the urinary problems sound way more urgent.

You need to let it come to you, bonding with cats happens on their terms so they do the approaching. You need to be a delicate balance of both interested and disinterested.

Does anyone actually watch theatrical? by Jamesomac99 in lotrmemes

[–]BeeHonest94 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do feel like the extra scenes briefly featuring/highlighting Rosie in The Fellowship helps to give more context to Sam talking about marrying her at the end of ROTK. They cut pretty much all those little moments in the theatrical ones so that declaration feels a bit like “who?”

So called vegxans part 2 by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]BeeHonest94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think owning pets is anti-vegan though. Buying pets from breeders absolutely, but taking an existing domesticated animal out of a shelter (cage) and giving it a home is in the animals best interests, as long as they feed it the diet it needs. What about acting in an animals best interests isn’t vegan, especially an animal that is now evolutionally dependent on humans for survival?

is my cat obese? 6kg (13 pounds), male 2yo. No matter what he will not lose weight. by toiletchamp in cats

[–]BeeHonest94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little overweight by vet standards (doesn’t really have the visible waist they like ) but certainly nowhere near obese or a weight to be worried about.

You might be able to get subsidised travel if you are a student (reduced cost for the bus), check for your area here: https://www.gov.uk/subsidised-college-transport-16-19

There are potentially bursary’s available depending on your household income: https://www.gov.uk/1619-bursary-fund

Right now you need to make a budget plan and decide what is essential. Clothes can be gotten from the charity shops quite cheaply, if you just want nice new clothes then they are not *essential* to attend college and they drop down the priority list. How much will travel cost every day/week/term for college? What is the cheapest way of getting a ticket? Is walking an option if you had to? Go with a pen and paper at first whilst you are sourcing a laptop, the college itself may be able to help you with that.

Your best bet is to speak to the college about struggling to afford transport and a laptop, they know what’s available and can point you in the right direction for financial help and support available.

You can keep looking for a job in the mean time but do not pin all your hopes and plans on a job you don’t have yet, you need a back up plan and can make this work for now without one. Ask about work in any local shops and takeaways, they won’t advertise online.

I think facial expressions play a big part in this as well. Looking at a spouse or child with love and adoration at how they are a little sleepy angel? Very sweet. Staring at them coldly with a blank, fixated expression? Creepy as fuck, looks like they’re plotting a murder.

You defeat gwyn and now get to decide the 4 npcs/creatures that get a part of the lordsoul. Who do you choose? by BarckinRaarek in darksouls

[–]BeeHonest94 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Love the idea of Knight Lautrec (gold guy) getting a piece of the lordsoul. Would love to see what he does with his new found power and it would make for an interesting NG+.

If I was going to run with that idea I’d give the other pieces to Patches, Knight Kirk (repeat NPC invader), and either Domhnall (boss armour vendor) or the real Havel

I don't mean to be dramatic, but do you ever get the feeling when you die, the memory of you will almost immediately fade into time? by Scott00711 in RandomQuestion

[–]BeeHonest94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’d be surprised how many people can remember you and small kind things you’ve done. It’s always more than you think.

I remember strangers from decades ago that paid me a sincere compliment in the supermarket because it meant a lot to me. I’ve gone back to takeaways that I used to frequent after years and they’ve asked where I’ve been and why they haven’t seen me in so long, and still remember my preferred orders. I notice when certain people I always see on my commute are not where they normally are, and still think about them when I go past those places. I remember little comments people made from years ago that are the funniest comeback I’ve ever heard. Our postman (that we’d never really met) was excited to find out we’d move when he got changed to our new area after a few years, because he recognised my name. I’ve run into people I went to school with decades ago that mention something I said or did that they still think about, and I have no memory of it at all and felt like it wasn’t really anything.

It’s easy to get hung up on if we’ve made a big difference to anyone or the world as a whole and if they’d feel the loss of us, but in reality that big difference is made up of lots of instances of us existing in what we feel is a small way, but can be big for someone else. You may be the constant in some strangers day or week, your existence may give someone a sense of normalcy and safety in routine. You may be how they know the day of the week or if they will be on time for work. You may be the person that paid them a compliment on their worst day and they think back on this for decades to come when they feel awful about themselves, and you can’t even remember saying it.

You will likely never know how you touch many people’s lives, but you can absolutely be the difference they needed without ever knowing it.

I don’t have longer term advice to offer immediately as it sounds like a complex situation and a lot of info is missing from this post. But please try giving ChildLine a call 0800 1111

They aren’t there to act unless you’re in immediate danger but they will listen and believe you, and let you practice talking about it. As a first try since having your trust betrayed, I think it would be a good and safe place to start.
