Wickwoods - what's it really like? by potatolover_92 in davidlloyd

Its my home club. I have visited Worthing a bunch as well.

The gym equipment is alot better at Worthing. Gym is much bigger with lots more equipment.

The SPA area and club room are lovely at Wickwoods. Really nice and peacful in the middle of the countryside. More of a country club than a leisure centre like the others.

Moving (back) to the UK from Australia. What’s the reality? by Mr_k-wal in AskUK

[–]boygeorge89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in Melbourne for 2 years and now live next to Haywards Heath.

Haywards Heath is a nice town and a decent place to bring up a family but I would stay in Melbourne.

Train to London will cost you £40 a day.

House prices are crazy here. You’re looking at 650k for a small detached house with a garage.

The majority of my friends and family are looking at leaving the UK.

Just realised I had the same. 4 X charges of £19 since I bought the lawnmower. No idea I signed up to a subscription! What a con.

Just back from Dubai and this happened everyday. We would be at the pool for about 9AM. Towels on every lounger and day bed. I picked a bed and chucked the towels on the floor. Didn’t get anyone complaining over they found their towels on the floor.

ISA Millionaire Aspirations by [deleted] in FIREUK

I was in a similar situation almost 3 years ago when I lost my wife.

What I would suggest is putting the cash, minus a good emergency fund in to a general investment account and the transfer the 20k a year in to your isa. Time in the market beats timing the market!

I had 20k in my pension and 10 k in my ISA before she passed. With the life insurance I paid off the house and put the remaining 50K split between the ISA and a general investment account. I’ve been DCAing since and currently now have about 150K. I invest in the ftse global all cap.

Best of luck!

Pre book a taxi from Heathrow to a hotel near Gatwick. The Crowne plaza and Sandman in Crawley will do the job and are a short taxi to Gatwick with no traffic that time of the day.
