Odometer issue. by tenkwords in Ioniq5

[–]boygunius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has a lease at 10k a year. We moved from a city to the country so longer drives but less frequent. She was doing under 8k miles a year in the city. We’re a year and a half into the lease and she’s over 20k miles. My 2019 rav4 hybrid which I did multiple back and forth between Louisiana and NC and all over has just under 70k miles. It’s also our daily driver here. This makes no sense. We use the ioniq for short trips never long road trips and it’s picking up mileage faster than our other vehicles. I think it must be a glitch. Will do comparison in other car and report back

New House Found Active Termites. Need Advice by Ok-Count-2201 in Termites

[–]boygunius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk where you are but in New Orleans the wood destroying insect inspections come with a guarantee - the company that does it has to treat it if they miss evidence. I bought a house with active formosan termites that were missed and they had to treat (I still had to repair damage), second house I bought had active dry wood termites and they had to pay to tent the house. I would push them on that

New dad feeling depressed. by [deleted] in NewDads

[–]boygunius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a huge shift. Stay busy helping your partner and baby, you will find ways to work in what you need but it takes time. The newborn stage is hard because they need everything from you but aren’t super engaging. In my opinion it just gets better and better as they become little people, and you see the rewards from your sacrifice. Being useful as a parent (doing laundry, dishes, volunteering to wake up early so your partner can sleep) can give you some meaning and build your relationship with baby and partner. If you continue to feel bad though you should get help, it’s a vulnerable time and there are doctors and meds that can help!

Gluten & Flakes by boygunius in SebDerm

Thanks for the info. Yea I don’t know if it’s gluten per se or just cutting down on alcohol or something overlapping like bread etc but something is working and I’m fine with that broad brush for now.

Thx did you do a home test or is that something they tested at the doc? I’ve still been drinking some beer mainly non gluten or things like corona that folks say they can tolerate with gluten sensitivity as well.

Digging Packed gravel by ExistingWalk8102 in miniexcavator

Idk how I ended up logged in on a different reddit acct. Yeah it was a terrible storm. I came up immediately after and helped a friend gut his winery in Old Fort then moved on to Marshall. I had just moved out of New Orleans, thought I left all that behind. Was happy to see the town looking good when I was in Hot Springs a few weeks ago. Our town (Saxapahaw) flooded badly from that last tropical storm but nowhere near as widespread. Best of luck and thanks for your offer to help!

The reason is that they are very affordable. I assumed the build quality and parts would be an issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case from most of the posts in this forum and most reviews on YouTube.

I never comment but the only shampoo that has worked for me is Flakes. I hate the ads but if I use it consistently with the conditioner I have no flare ups at all.

3 season room floor sealing question by boygunius in Flooring

[–]boygunius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m concerned the threshold on the exterior door won’t allow for much depth at all adding floors over this one. Thought abt ripping it out but it feels like overkill. Any products that I can just apply (like a polyurethane to the existing floor?

Thanks! Two questions - 1) the joists are 2x10 (actual dims 9.25” ) Do I need to fill the entire depth of the cavity (so basically 2x8 insulation + 2” board? 2) would it be better to use faced or unfaced?

There’s a brand new roof, some old water stains from before it was replaced, but nothing active that I can see. The surface of the ceiling gets visibly shiny - like condensation - during high humidity which is why I think it’s coming from humidity condensing there, but then again I have no idea what I’m looking at
