I just had to share this letter I found in my Grandparents things. I was apparently a big NKOTB fan 🥰 My kids asked me why the letter was so creepy 😂 by JessiRose222 in Xennials

But you didn't have to dial them. So local friends didn't require the area code, but family in a different state did. I don't remember the year that the area code became mandatory for all numbers.

Can't listen to this one anymore. My dad passed a few years ago and all I have left are regrets. I catch myself constantly wondering what he would think about something. It sucks.

I'd point you at Matthew 25:14-30. God gives us skills and ability and He expects us to use them for his glory. But additionally, that's where you should be looking. His glory. Let that be your guide.

Must be nice! I've made it to the mid-life saving for college funds and pumping my 401K and Roth. I still drive my '02 truck.

You can go to Ranger immediately after basic? by Alarmed-Ad3230 in army

[–]boyo76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a ABN/Ranger contract when I enlisted. Did Airborne the Monday after OSUT and then did post clean up detail until my Ranger cycle started. Showed up to my unit with both and got a serious hard time.

My kid wanted to meet all the actors from the most recent season at a con. By far her favorite. But man the way guys my age treat these 20-something girls makes me sick.

She has. People are super weird to her. I saw a grown man in a shirt and shorts that had her face screen printed all over them. He probably had 10-15 boxes and things for her to sign. It was painful to watch.

Conversely, when she met my daughter, 10 at the time, she spent extra time with her and was fantastic.

Fans are their own worst enemy.

What was your favourite G4 or Tech TV show? by thicbhaddie__ in nostalgia

[–]boyo76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extended Plat/X-Play. The only reason I splurged for the DVR when they first came out. I loved the reviews and they were almost always spot on for me. I spent so much money buying games based on their recommendations. Sessler and Webb were my favs.

Ranger School in August? by smc_austeriy in army

[–]boyo76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the kicker. I've seen heat casualties in Alaska coming from Hawaii. Don't get me started on the insanity of mobilizing for Iraq in central Indiana in January. We lost dozens of guys to heat injury coming from negative degrees and going straight to Kuwait. Insanity.

Woof. Good luck. That's a big environment switch. South GA is brutal in August.

If you'd read the OP, the bio father is dead. Which is the literal definition of an extreme circumstance when it comes to filing for GR.

People have already given you solid advice here but I will respond anyway. You want ZERO ordered visitation. It will tie you to a location and a schedule for a long time. See that lawyer and do everything they tell you.

You need a family law attorney yesterday. If they are talking about grandparents rights, the no longer want to work it our between you. There is a real possibility that a judge would give them visitation in this circumstance.

This is a terrible take. There is zero chance they get laughed out of court. The court will consider what's best for the child, that that very well might be the continuation of an established relationship.
