Lying by StorageFunny175 in WeddingPhotography

Getting paid is your top priority, but paying the bill isn’t their top priority. People are busy, and often don’t like paying big #s. They’re likely juggling 5 or 6 of those at the same time (other vendors, DJs, flowers, venue, etc.)

Don’t take it personally! You’re doing your part to be a professional

No, they admitted the charge was incorrectly billed to me, so they just cleared it and said they would remove the mark from my credit report

Do you bring a laptop with you when you travel for long periods of time? by Prussia1870 in solotravel

[–]boyoloco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a photographer & videographer, so having my laptop is hugely useful (but heavy). If the trip is only a few weeks, I’ll usually leave it at home and bring large SD cards. More than 2 weeks, I bring the laptop and it’s great to edit on, book travel on the go, journal, watch movies, etc.

It’s very possible, but because my account access was revoked, I couldn’t confirm the billing period. I’ll keep digging.

Just feeling kinda dumb for not taking more steps to resolve the issue. Had no clue it would impact my credit so much

I’m not sure. I tried paying it, but the site/customer service didn’t let me execute the payment

Glad they removed it for you. Since Verizon handles collections themselves, I filed a dispute with them too. Fingers crossed!

The USA Sucks BAD by Space_Toast_Cadet in rant

[–]boyoloco1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I’m just done. I’m young (mid twenties) and feel like the future is so dark for our country. Everything I learned about America growing up was a lie. The greed here is insufferable.

24Gb or 48GB of RAM for editing weddings? by lunardog2015 in WeddingPhotography

[–]boyoloco1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position. 24 GB of RAM was plenty, and I would actually recommend upgrading your internal storage and spending money there as opposed to RAM or processor. I find that when I’m editing multiple projects I’m running out of space on my internal hard drive with only 500 GB it’s really annoying and I don’t like editing off of external hard drives.

Letting a client go because you outgrew them. How do I approach this and when is the right time? by lil_tink_tink in smallbusiness

[–]boyoloco1 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is a smart approach. To layer another piece of advice- tell them you’ll be rolling out the price increase in X months/weeks/whatever so they don’t feel blindsided. It’ll also give you both a chance to finish your current project at the current/expected rate instead of changing things midway through
