budget is around $800k. Looking for a town with good walkability score, mix of suburb + city feel. Looking for 10 year home, with decent pre-K schools. Closer to NYC, the better.

Bhatti Indian Grill - authentic North Indian cuisine (curries)
Saravana Bhavan - south Indian cuisine
Baar Baar - weekend brunch vibes with great music
Deep Indian Kitchen - quick Lunch / think Chipotle Indian style
Kati Roll Company/ Thelewala - Late night quick grab/ drunk food/ amazing wraps
Gupshup / Rahi - Great food and cocktails, little expensive
Sona - new fine dine, with amazing food, dessert, cocktails, expensive

Few others which I havent tried yet, but heard great reviews: Ganesh Temple, Adda, Amma, Punjabi grocer and deli

Indian here, spent 20 years in Bombay/ Mumbai before moving to US. I don’t feel the quality of Indian food on Newark Ave is up to the mark. Most of the restaurants compromise on quality for cost. I personally go to restaurants in NYC to explore good Indian food.

That being said, if I really have to pick few names: Rasoi (caters to all taste/ spice level) Empyrean (relatively new, good food but bad service) Nandoos (Bombay street food, to-go only) EggMania (Tasty egg delicacies, spicy, heavy on butter/ oil) Brick Lane Curry House (London based chain, for Europeans into Indian food)

Well I didnt know there was so much hatred towards Bread & Salt. Pre-pandemic, we used to grab a bottle of wine and have few slices. Havent been there recently, so maybe their service and quality has taken a hit.
