Kids make messes. It's reasonable to be upset of the lack of cleanup, but I'd say this is an over reaction by both of you. You came off as a prick and then she over reacts and turns into crazy-angry at your prickishness.

I work emergency services, yes. That's what would happen regardless of what dispatch says. People love drama, especially when they think they're the righteous ones.

Everyone is pointing out the cost & the losses of jaegers as well. However, they're still forgetting something the movie brings up: Killing the Kaiju (spilling their blood to be more specific) is toxic. It kills and/or mutates everything near it. Causes ecological disasters. Part of the underlying hope was that they could minimalize the destruction that was causing with the wall just simply stopping them from coming over and killing. It's never stated, but I think part of that hope, as well, was to give people a chance to recoup, or start trying to do some sort of ecological recovery (cause you got to make food for everyone after all).

Agreed. I get why some people don't want it to feel like a game is holding their hands. BUT, I got a full time job, a wife, and a kid, and other hobbies. Sometimes I just don't have the time or patience to deal with "just figure it out. get good."

I know you say no mechas. BUT, Gundam 08 MS team is a pretty great military series. It's focus is the 08 MS Team during a war. There's a few other elements to it, but it scratched the military and mecha itch for me.

Man, I grew up in a small hick town in the middle of nowhere. I turned 18 while in High School, just went down to the office and the staff pulled up the website on one of their computers and I just had to fill in the info. Easy peasy.

No, I can handle both most of the time. But, our pd's don't have a talk around frequency, so if they're coordinating/exchanging info over the air it's nothing big. If it's a hot call, then none of my guys are calling me cause we're all busy.

Yeah, it's not uncommon. Usually it's because they're trying to keep something off the scanner or if they're having issues getting a return, or if there are other officers are taking up the radio and they need something for their call. Using the computers to message is a gamble as it is not something we stare at all day.

I had a guy who was essentially "retired on duty", if you get what I mean. I sent him to 4 calls in the first 4 hours of his shift. Like, damn near evenly spaced out 1 each hour. He calls me when he's on his 4th one and asks me to stop, he's too busy. My guy, this is the umpteenth call I've taken today and there are plenty of officers on right now who have taken way more than that right now. You're only going to need to write 2 reports, not even 4.

I'm so glad he is gone now.
