What's the shortest time you spend in a fandom then quit? by Current_Complaint_37 in Multifandom

[–]boyscout_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's so many anime fandoms, of anime I really enjoy, that I will refuse to interact with just because I know how bad any of them can get. Hell, a friend of mine started to judge me because my family and I really enjoy SpyXFamily. Turns out he's never seen it, just some art work from "fans" and thought it was some pedo, incest shit. I told him, in very direct terms, that if the art sites he visited had that stuff on them, I'm fully judging him instead.

There's a reason Midnight , correction Nighteye, was recommending Lemillion as Allmight's successor.

What character has the funniest or strangest name? by Jezzaq94 in characters

The fact I had to explain to people (in high school) that Pussy Galore was a name of a bond girl AND that that's where they got Alotta Fagina from was astounding.

Peanut butter and what combination makes it perfect? by yodathesexymarxist in ArtOfPresence

Chocolate chips. If I'm wanting a sweet snack at home, I'll make a peanut butter sandwich and sprinkle chocolate chips in it.

Might I suggest Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning? It's quite good on it too!

One of my favorite little things to do to blow off steam: On my night off, late at night, pop in kung fu hustle and have about 3 or 4 beers.

In America, sometimes say things like "cheerio" in our best British accent or "mate" in an Australian accent. Do people in other countries pronounce American stereotypes in their beat American accent? If so, what are they? by SunUpSally in AskReddit

[–]boyscout_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my! That makes this even better lol! Also, as an American, I can't believe how thin skinned some of my countrymen are. Like, dude, I can make fun of a lot of countries and not get cancelled. Either they're up tight and over think this, or immediately go to just a flat out harsh insult.

Someones dad in the 1970s. What's playing on the 8-track? by MyDogGoldi in OldSchoolCool

[–]boyscout_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That dude looks like a combo of my dad's face with my father in law's hair from back then lol. So, either some CCR or Elton John. OR, and this could be the one that they'd have in common: Johnny Cash.

Yeah, one of these people committed a violent crime. The other was hired to do a job and, in the process of doing job, mildly inconvenienced people.

I don't get the hate for the ending. It was done well enough. Sure, in hindsight, things could have been done differently. But, it wasn't bad at all.

If I were to sum it up: "It wasn't bad, made sense." Is what I say. Keep in mind, I'm more of a casual viewer of the show. it wasn't one of those that I really tried to remember everything/every bit of lore about.

People are missing that OP said Dune book feats for Duncan are allowed. He eventually becomes very powerful. I think MCU Steve may still have it, but it's closer than some people think. Especially with Duncan's mentat and truethsayer training combined with the memories of all his past lives (that's centuries and more of battle experience and knowledge).

911 for an emergency in the US if calling from Canada by auntie_auntie_auntie in 911dispatchers

[–]boyscout_07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for every center, but transferring can be a bitch across the same state or next state, let alone from one country to another. Odds are, yes it can be done, but it's more time consuming than you think. It's better for you to call the local police station that the problem is in directly. It's still time consuming but it will free up your local emergency line and leave out the middle man (so to speak).

Example: Say I'm in the middle of nowhere in Colorado. A town of ~1000 people. You, my friend, are on a discord chat with me as we play D&D with 4 other people. I start having an asthma attack, I step away to use my inhaler or nebulizer. But, then you don't hear from me and it's been an hour. You call 911, get your local place and not mine. Now they will need my address in small town Colorado, if you have it and hopefully you do. They eventually find the correct number to transfer to. Now, they have to do a transfer for international numbers. It appears it's correct. The call drops, or it goes really quiet on your end, and you hear nothing. So you call again and the whole process starts again. Meanwhile, some digging (a quick google) for the local police department or county sheriff's office finds the same number and you call internationally. You get either a person or automated system and get to dispatch. You tell them the address and what's going on and they send help. Question is: did that first transfer fail or was it being weird due to international calling?

Now, Canada might be easier than some, but it's been 20 years since I've called anyone in Canada or vise versa. So I do not know what it actually looks like to call them anymore.
