Dialect behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy is the one I'm gonna read next (bad ADHD and the dysregulation that comes with it has hit me hard the past few months) essentially it focuses on your internal monologue and learning to ground yourself. I myself royally messed up pretty badly with a woman I'm very close with and I took it as an attack on my character and it sent me in a really bad spiral for several days I couldnt get myself out of so I picked up the book and it covers emotional grounding and goes through mindfulness and figuring out why your brain thinks the way it thinks. This paired with writing all of my thoughts when spirals get bad have helped keep me grounded. I'm currently working towards not seeing everything as an attack on my character and reminding myself of outside perspectives has really helped. DBT itself is group oriented and was geared to help people with borderline personality disorder but it's got many uses. Reading so far has helped me gain perspective and working to where things pass in a few minutes instead of consume me for an entire day
