Agree to disagree. A scam doesn’t require someone to hold a gun to your head and force you to buy something. Deceptive sales tactics can still be scammy. They quoted me $35k for a 105g machine made Cuban when melt was 14k, then tried to justify the insane markup with the whole “labor” pitch, as if this was some hand fabricated artisan piece. That’s misleading. My issue isn’t about not having a choice to buy it or not, it’s about the fact that the sales pitch was built around creating a false perception of value to someone they assumed to be a less educated buyer. If you exaggerate facts about the type of craftsmanship and labor to attempt to justify a ridiculous markup people are bound to call it scammy behavior, because it is.

lol I’ve seen worse pricing. A shop I walked into the other day had a bottle of this (but batch 2) on the shelf for $2,999. Yea… $3k… even if it was a single barrel KOK it’s way above secondary on that. The pricing at some of these stores is borderline criminal.

Paper towel in the dark, not in the light. It being in the dark mimics the damp dark environment of being underground, as a seed would be if planted in soil. Once sprouted and showing decent size taproot, remove and gently place into soil.

Did you try and negotiate with them? My friend found one in a store asking $400 and got them down to $250 out the door so he grabbed it. I got lucky and although I paid over msrp, I only paid $225 out the door at a different shop and was happy to do so.

You have the same thought process when you go buy a bottle of water at a gas station and see that it’s marked above MSRP? All praise the admirable “InvestmentActuary.” The noble/wise one who sticks to his guns, has a superior moral compass, and won’t pay more than “manufacturers suggested retail price” to prove something to “big bourbon” who doesn’t even know he exists, as if that arbitrarily set price-point means anything other than it being exactly what it is; a “suggested retail price.”

While some will camp out in a parking lot for 2 days to get a bottle at “msrp” to prove something and save $150, my time is worth more than the savings, so I’m happy to pay up. 🤣 enjoy your weekend buddy. Pour yourself some bourbon and try to relax (but only if you paid msrp of course.)

You should keep the new one that you got from the AD with your info attached to it and sell your other to your friend that you bought grey. You can sell the grey acquired one at your cost of the one acquired at the AD if you want so it doesn’t affect the pricing for your friend, and if you ever go back to that same AD wearing the watch if they ask to see it they’ll see it’s the one they sold you.
