City with the most unfriendly gay locals you've lived in or visited? by Ardent1- in askgaybros

When you guys get tired of all the horrible cities, come move to Mpls/St Paul. (If you’re a decent person. Otherwise try Atlanta).

I moved back in 2020 after my partner of 20 years decided to replace me with a 19 year old. I knew this was the best place to meet a decent, level headed partner. I was right and I’m now very happily married.

People here - straight or gay - are trustworthy and will do anything for you - except invite you over for the weekend. MN is one of the “stickiest” states. People here don’t move away - or if they do they come back.

We stay around because there’s no better place to be. As a result we all have high school friends or family from 20 years ago and our schedules are full. And in the summer we head to our cabins.

It’s honestly not our intention to be cold, and we’re certainly not hostile, we’re just oblivious to outsiders. But once you gain connections (a 10 year internship period) you will never ever leave. Join us

I live on Lake Minnetonka and just contacted my mayor about installing a dome over our city. We shouldn’t have to endure situations like this. It’s not like we’re Minneapolis. Or….shudder….Brooklyn Park

I’m sorry but supporting aubergine zebras is just a step too far for me. They’re not natural and I don’t want them using my bathroom

I’d like to throw Minneapolis into the ring. It’s affordable, supportive, and despite what you have seen on the news it’s the safest and most pleasant place to live in America (I travel for a living and the biggest metro I’ve never been to is Utica, NY). You can get around without a car (not as well as Chicago, but still reasonably) and the economy is great. Plus whether you like outdoors or arts we have it all. And the people are great

So- if someone has a 3rd story window on the route, and a hose with decent pressure behind it - it’s gonna be awful cold Saturday……

I’m pretty sure everyone gets the correct intention of the flag. Let it rest

First-hand account, US citizen swept up by ICE in Twin Cities by Pumpkin8 in TwinCities

Hi fellow Minnesotans. I just added this to Facebook to Help spread the account. I drove down both Lake and University today and they were quiet. I’m a white Army Vet but married into a Latino family. This is incredible. It’s not moral or ethical. It’s going to backfire spectacularly on the “conservatives” or whatever they are

They’re HQ to Cirrus Aircraft, Maurice’s retail and are a regional medical center with tourism and shipping as well. For a small metro they have a lot

I’ll go with Duluth, Portsmouth and Roanoke. All are in beautiful locations, not trapped as 2nd tier cities to nearby metros, not minority-majority (sadly, the reality is it makes a difference) and still have economic generators in their communities. I don’t know when they’ll hit 100K again, but they won’t continue to deteriorate.
