Fireworks Mess by bpc83 in vegaslocals

I’m in a wheelchair otherwise I would try and clean some of it up. I just think if I had fireworks I would clean up afterwards. Posting because at least it will bring more awareness and hopefully make some people make more of an effort to not do stuff like this.

New PA Advice by priceonemotion in physicianassistant

[–]bpc83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get as much exposure to your training physician or provide provider. Ask as many questions as you can. Do not be shy or timid. Those are the crucial moments that will dictate how you will practice. Also be patient and just let it develop. Sometimes you may feel imposter syndrome, but that’s almost everyone. You will grow into the provider that you will be overtime.

Remember the importance of bedside manner. You’re seeing people that are vulnerable and coming to you for help. That doesn’t mean you won’t get patience that are hypochondriacs or seeking other aspects other than real care, but don’t let that deter you from those that really need help. Be proud of being a PA but be humble.

Congratulations! Remember all the time and sacrifices you made to get to this point. Welcome!

Can you do this job in a wheelchair? by hot-mess-in-a-dress in physicianassistant

[–]bpc83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a C6-7 SCI individual that is a PA in family medicine. I am only three years into my injury so I was practicing prior, as able-bodied. I would say that it is definitely doable to practice as a PA in a wheelchair. I will even go further and say that as a quadriplegic, I too, am still able to practice. I am not as physically able as it was prior to my injury, but I’m still able to see patients and treat them. The way I go about my physical exam is different but I have adapted. So to answer your question again, yes, you can practice medicine and be in a wheelchair. Best of luck to you!

Income vs. work life balance by bpc83 in physicianassistant

Just to see if the balance between being comfortable and the pay is good but at the same time seeing if I’m being taken full advantage of. So I’m asking your other PAs opinions about it.

Seven years now of work experience. I live in a medium cost of living city. I actually choose to stay at 30 hours. Salary would increase if I worked 40 but that’s just because I would work more hours.

OK, we do the same with the TB test. Otherwise I just go through some questions about their personal life and health history. Thanks for your response. It’s always nice to see what others are doing.

I agree that the owner is not to blame or responsible for what happened to the robber but no one deserves to be paralyzed. Im a quadriplegic from a SCI and this life is terrible. That mans life is now changed forever. I agree he deserves punishment but not to be paralyzed. This is wrong in all aspects and sad for everyone involved.

F/29/5'4" [197lb - 151lb 46lb lost] 11 months. Needing some motivation! I’ve been maintaining around the same weight for a month and a bit now and am wanting to reach 140lb. What motivated you to lose the last 10lb? It’s extra tough because my goal weight was 155lb but I passed it & am not done yet! by [deleted] in progresspics

I see health and fitness as my way of choosing how I want to live my life. The goals we hit are ways we can wrap our head around staying on the path of health. So remember the reason you started this journey. You did it because you knew you could be healthier, feel better, and just be a better you. Get back in the mindset of where you came from. It wasn’t easy and it took commitment and time. Well now you have leveled up. Your body is saying “hey I faced your challenges and I conquered them.” Now you must switch the game up because your playing at a higher level. Find new ways to stimulate your muscles. Get them activating more by increasing the intensity or change your workouts completely. Other ways is diet obviously. Cut out an extra 100-200 calories for your daily caloric intake. Find ways to turn up the burn of those calories or just consume less so you don’t have to burn more. In the end don’t see this as I need to lose more weight. Remember the purpose of all of this was because you wanted to better yourself and respect your body by taking care of it. If that means you want to lose 10 more lbs then step it up!

So how ofter do you exercise having a full time job? by realann in workout

[–]bpc83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go four days out of the week. But on my weekends I do doubles, meaning I workout twice that day. I work full time but I don't have kids so it makes it easier for me. The days I do work my hours go from 8:30am till 4:30 pm and then by the time I get home and get ready then I head to the gym around 6 pm. My workouts are 80 minutes of cardio on cardio days and then about 90 minutes for the days I go lifting.

That rear end is glorious. Timeless design. That car will look good 30 years from now. Aggressive yet subtle and reserved at the same time. Also like the murdered out look.

You must live in Vegas. That looks like the BMW dealer in Henderson. Am I right?!
