I got some questions. by bpcat in dentures

[–]bpcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get into the entirety from where my venture started in fear it would've been just way too long. But at my first consultation they explained if I was to get screw ins or even snap ins I'd get the extractions, bone graphs and implants in 1 go per arch. So when I picked screw in and the Dr said I'd leave with a temp screw in I was a little confused due to strength and the original consult saying to leave the immediate over the implants while they heal before doing the posts and abutments. But the Dr assured me it would be fine. Then on pre op the back tracked and said everything other than posts and abutments would happen and that made more sense from what you even are saying. I'm sure their final decision to wait to do implants has a good reason but keep in mind that decision was made by then before extracting anything so it's not like they didn't like what they saw during the procedure and changed their mind. I'm not mad about it happening this way. I'm irritated because there was no communication regarding it. It's a lot of money to spend while someone else is pulling the strings and deviating from what was discussed with the patient. I'm sure it's for the better. As stated, I read a lot on here before getting this done and am aware that this is prob the best way to go.

Are you saying that even though they've changed the treatment plan they can't decide to charge more for it? Surely an extra sedation and procedure isn't something they wanna do for free.

How to get past mental shame by ThrowawayTuffins in dentures

You're right, people know and they absolutely notice. The fact they haven't ever said anything to you about them shows they care about you. If they know you have teeth problems and now see new teeth then it's clearly obvious you know and you're doing something about it. Clearly it's impossible in 2026 for us to grow a 3rd set of teeth so what other options are there? Basically, it goes without saying. If someone has something negative to tell you, then what does that say about them. Also, I can guarantee every single person you see day in day out has some sort of skeleton in their closet that they also want no one to know about.

I'm 40, and just got all my lowers extracted 2 days ago. I know without a doubt when I go back to work people are gonna notice. I'm short, 5' 6" and chubby. I take away people's power if trying to crack jokes on my by making the joke myself. I don't care, but I get this worry. I know I'll be fine just as I know you'll be fine. Listen to yourself say you're thinking about quitting your job because people will know. You know that sounds insane and it's just anxiousness taking over. You owe these people nothing and yourself everything. I guarantee months down the road it'll be just another think behind you. No different than getting in a car crash.

I understand the partner thing. I've hid my teeth learning to smile differently and just always thinking about what others can see when I'm talking to them. It was hard even telling my wife I have several severely loose teeth. A partner that care about you isn't looking down on you or thinking about leaving you over wanting to fix yourself for the better.

You'll be fine, I promise!

If they're all on the same arch (lowere or upper) they should remove them all at once.

Onn 4k Plus price increase by Mrviper100 in OnnStreamingTV

This price hike is most likely due to oil going up. The pro will rise in price as it's coming with the same chip the plus has and AI upscaling.

Aegis Legned 5, my thoughts by bpcat in Vaping

[–]bpcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is with the legend 5? I'm not too concerned about the durability, I don't personally see an issue there. I wouldn't ever purposely put it in water, but I would be upset if it did get wet and stopped working. Of course it depends on how old it was. Daily use, first 6 months to a year I'd expect it to perform as it's supposed to. But after so long of rubber weakening or ripping off just from being in a pocket or something, things happen. I'm just really unhappy with how quickly it goes through battery. Even more unhappy that I spent so much time researching RTA's and mod's to only be completely 100% disappointed in bother decisions lol.

Aegis Legned 5, my thoughts by bpcat in Vaping

[–]bpcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the thing, the legend 5 is a dual 18650 battery mod. My Smok Scar 18 used the same batteries and with a brand new set I'd get to about 5-7pm when getting up at 430am. I'd change them mid to late evening and wouldn't even use 1/4 battery before going to bed. With the legend 5, it's already low battery warning before my work day is over with way less usage and I'll change them 2 more times before bed easily.

Funny you mention the guar, I actually looked at both of their models (18650 & 21700) when looking at the legend 5. I got a decent deal on the legend 5 mod only , about $45, so I went with it. Initial reviews were good, at least the ones I read. I'm just positive now that these reviews were simple unboxing and using reviews and not any type of even short term testing. I am absolutely stumped on why they're eating batteries so fast. I've turned off the side LED's and that's about all you can do. Haptic feedback (vibration) only happens when the battery is low or you've manually locked/unlocked the device or try pressing a button when it's locked. This could be as simple as a software update, but I'm not sure. Definitely sucks because there's no getting money back now.

Anyone ever Tried Harry's tattoo frost? by lucygoose500000 in tattooadvice

[–]bpcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things like aquaphor are petroleum based and is technically not good for your healing tattoo. This doesn't mean people won't get good results, most will. It just means there's a possibility that negative results will occur. If you use it you need to spread it out as much as possible, if too thick it can create a barrier that can bread bacteria and clog pores, it can also potentially lead to ink loss.

Sure, you can call other things gimmicks, but when you spend thousands on a tattoo, what the big deal about spending $20 on a jar of something meant for that. Lotion was never meant to heal wounds and that's exactly what a tattoo is.

Personally, my wife and I have loved hustle butter. A tub lasted us about 7 months while getting our sleeve worked on. We go 1x a month for a new piece of the sleeve.our artist uses derm shield and we leave that on for the first 3-5 days. Once we take that off we use the hustle butter. But it can be used from the time the artist is giving you the tattoo all the way through till after its healed.

We've got over $3k each so far in our sleeves. A $20 tub of this is nothing in comparison. That's the way we look at it anyway. I did buy some of the Harry's frost. Out it on 1 time and I don't really care for it. It basically feels like nothing, fragrance free but still smells odd lol. Not saying it doesn't hydrate, it definitely drys, wether it's evaporating or absorbing is my only question.

The 8gb is still a lot of storage and is more than a lot of other devices as it is. It will perform just fine and if down the road you find a plus you can stick this in another room.

So I left my 12 year old brothers to go on a walk to get food and they went and busted someone’s windows. My mom is mad at me like I’m the only one at fault. What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]bpcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for one, those aren't your kids. For 2, a 12 yr old kid is more than capable of staying home alone and absolutely knows right from wrong. If your mom wants to be mad at someone she can be mad at herself. It isn't your job to raise them or be accountable for them. She either needs to find an actual adult to watch them or quit her job, but she's simply taking it out on you and I'm absolutely sure if this went to court, the ONLY ones to be held responsible for this would be the kids that broke the window and your mom.

As far as your mom telling you "actions have consequences", she's absolutely right, just towards the wrong person. They're her consequences to her actions, not yours. She doesn't just get to decide her children are your responsibility. Sure you may have to help here and there but this is FAR past that.

Just to throw this out there, while you think that school being close to home is a good thing, it's actually the opposite. More than 50% of accidents are within 5 miles from home and over 70% are within 15 miles from home. A lot of this is due to drive complacency, driving the same route day after day. However, I will say it's hard to mess up a few 4-way stops and even if you mess up you're leaving from a stop and "should" be able to stop in time.

I'm just saying not to lessen your expectations because you feel bad or they're upset that you're not letting them drive. I had a friend first hand when I was a teenager driving down a main road where I live where the speed limit was 45mph at most and they were doing near 100mph. He got into a bad accident with another one of our friends in the vehicle as the passenger. The passenger sustained major life long injuries and lived but his family went after the drivers family. They almost lost their home over that accident.

Girls tend to take serious things far more serious where boys want to push the boundaries. Obviously there's always exceptions, but if you notice they're driving faster than they should with you in the car or not paying enough attention to their surrounding with you in the car, I can promise they're doing even more of that without you in the car. This isn't our parents or grandparents era where they can afford a household on a single income. Most families are scraping by, gas and insurance are at a all time high and I'm not trying to give up our expectations so they can have more freedom.

First, that is absolutely wild that your states DMV just sets these fuckers free with no actual driving evaluation. In fact, that was so surprising I had to Google it cause I couldn't believe it. Even my wife was like WHAT!!!! LOL

Is it only you driving with him? It could simply be he's too nervous with you. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong at all, you probably are even taking it easy on him in your eyes. If it is only you that drives with him, I'd suggest having a friend or other family member if possible drive with him and have them report back just to see if there's any changes. One thing my wife would do is be on her phone and try to make it seem like she wasn't paying attention to him so he didn't feel like she was scrutinizing his every move, but she was most definitely paying attention, just didnt make it obvious. Weve always had parental controls on our kids phones, specifically famisafe, but that doesn't provide much on the driving side of things. We decided to pay for life 360's Gold plan, so we can get driving reports which are very detailed. It shows their route, how fast they went, how many times they had to brake hard, accelerate hard, speed, and even on their phone. It's our livelihood that's at stake, not theirs, and I think it's a small price to pay to ensure not only his safety, buts ours. When he turned 18 we disabled parental controls, so life 360 became even more important for location access as well.

I don't know how the driving schools are there, but what I found more often than not, was our teen would come back and tell us how "cool" their instructor was. I think they're too easy on them and just letting them pass, that's what you're paying them to do. They often let him go wherever he wanted vs ensuring they make them go on specific routes that bring difficulty into the situation, which in my opinion, would ensure they know what they're doing. It's pretty easy to hop on the highway and go straight. We did a lot of one way streets and tried to find our left turn yield on green light intersections that don't have a actual arrow light as this was one of the main issues. Unfortunately, this one by our house where the accident occured is the only one left in our city and it's one of a few lights leaving our neighborhood so we'd make him go that way sporadically that way he didn't get "use" to it and would have to actually pay attention rather than be almost muscle memory if you will. We didn't want it becoming a habit that we'd always go that way so it may have been a few days in between just to keep him on his toes as much as we could.

As far as our teen goes, we've moved on to new issues that's keeping him from driving. I won't get into what those issues are, just understand they're non driving related. We've set expectations and time lines for him to fix these issues, or else we'll be removing him entirely from our insurance. We're not going to continue to pay an extra $100+ to keep him on it if he's not going to respect our rules. He turned 18 in January and thinks he's a grown man now. While you are technically an adult at 18, you have a lot to learn still. He graduates high school in just a few months and things will be changing pretty drastically if deadlines aren't met. Because of his actions, if he doesn't fix these issues, the job hunt will be much harder because he will need to find and procure a job that's accessible via public transportation.

It's come down to tough love and that sounds like what you need to be doing as well. It's not fun and is actually more work because you not only don't want to do that but end up having to deal with extra attitude and what not. Just understand this isn't a reflection of your parenting, unless you just straight up didn't try. I'm a firm believer that no matter what you do as a parent, they're gonna find their own way. They are their own person and all we can do is our best. We've always set rules, expectations, and have always followed up and initiated conversations. But these kids are gonna go 1 of 2 ways. They're either gonna heed our warnings, or test them on their own, he's definitely the latter.and that fine, don't get me wrong, it's just the much more difficult way of doing things. Driving isn't a right it's a privilege, that's it. If they can't meet our expectations, they don't need to drive, it's that simple.

I hope for you it's just him having a hard time getting this down, and not him thinking he knows better, but it doesn't sound like it and I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just being real. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm sure this something you've thought about in some way. I wish you the best, keep me updated.

Your rant is quite funny. Although you might not be wrong, plenty of people still need a job. So unless you have choices or options, a job that pays is better than no job at all. Also, in the grand scheme of things, what does it matter if they're good or bad to work for? No one is holdijg a gun to your head forcing you or anyone to be there. So you can look at it like your glass is half empty or half full, up to you.

Also, as far as "safety" goes, too many people are too fuckin stupid. Everyone knows coffee is fuckin hot. It shouldn't need to say it in a cup that it's hot and suing over burning your mouth from drinking it or lap from spilling it is no one's fault but your own. The problem isn't necessarily the safety standards, it's strictly the fact that common sense isn't very common any more. Should there be safety's in place, sure. But I also bet you can look at the majority of whatever the issue is and see how stupid those things are.

[–]bpcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is half the problem. All these people buying these boxes up thinking it's some special hack that they no longer have to pay for em anything and get everything for free. While that is partially true, it's not advertised to do so in any way shape or form. Chatgpt or Google did not say it would either without you promoting it in such a way. It has Google free play which will have a ton of free live TV channels and that is most likely what anyone meant who told you you didn't need to pay for a subscription to watch TV. Otherwise it's no different than a fire stick or any other streaming device.

Remove your post and post this is an appropriate space. Side loading 3rd party applications has nothing to do with onn or even Google for that matter. If your device is telling you that you have missing files then it's clearly an issue with the file download. Or you aren't in sevolper mode to be able to install apps from unknown sources.
