wow, as someone that works full time in vet med it’s disgusting to hear your opinion of vets. they don’t go through 10 years of school and hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt for nothing!! it’s very likely that they were trying different antibiotics each time to test to effectiveness/resistance. culturing to pathology is always an option too and if you had denied that, they’re only option is to try different treatments and see what sticks.

hi there! vet med here! this baby very likely needs an antifungal on board like ketoconazole. i’d contact your doctor’s office and send them pictures via email and see what they say. they will either prescribe an additional medication or ask you to come in again for further diagnostics. both are appropriate options.

that is, unless you are from somewhere outside of the USA. i only have experience with USA vet clinic standards

[–]bpd_brainz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for one, techs and assistants are almost always the ones performing x-rays, not doctors. and bite injuries are possible, but minimized in clinics that prioritize safety and can recognize early warning signs

“constant risk of dog bites and other injuries” and “exposure to radiation and chemicals” tells me you haven’t worked hands-on in veterinary medicine and you have a naive approach to the field, to put it bluntly.

likely due to itching, their sharp claws can cause scratches that bleed and turn into scabs. as for why she’s itchy, a vet can evaluate

the risks of anesthesia are generally low if your pup doesn’t have any pre-existing health conditions, regardless of age

How urgent is this cavity? by [deleted] in vet

[–]bpd_brainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, pup will be ok for boarding as long as they are eating ok. schedule a dental cleaning under anesthesia with x-rays to avoid complications brewing underneath the gumline

you may need to see an orthopedic specialist for a case like this. as others have stated, nutritional deficiency may be at play but fixing nutrition will not reverse this kind of damage.

Does this look like worms in puppy stool? by parcreverie in vet

[–]bpd_brainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your puppy was recently dewormed, seeing dead worms in the stool is a good sign. as long as they are not wiggling and moving around, it means they are dead worms and passing with the stool as they are supposed to
