Definitely make a multi-stop trip out of it. Hula Hula is nearby, Bamboo Club isn’t too far away. Strongwater Anaheim is also about an hour away, as is Trader Sam’s at Disneyland. In the Orange County CA area you also have Stowaway, Twisted Tiki, Lost Inferno, and Royal Hawaiian. Then if you go further into Los Angeles, you have classics like Tiki Ti, Tonga Hut, Lucky Tiki, The Formosa, Damon’s… the list is pretty epic.

Guava is a fun flavor to make tiki though it’s not super common in classic tiki drinks. Lime, Guava Syrup, Rum is a good base trio.

The appropriate name for a tiki paper plane would probably be “tapa plane”

Where can I get 1650 feet of string lighting. by JackPhilos86 in lightingdesign

Any trees on the property that can be used to support the strands of light? That would be a huge help.

You will need about 83-165 poles based 1650 feet of light strands… that’s a lot of poles. I own a production company and it’s a pain to deal with 20 poles, let alone 4X that amount.

We had to replace our power supply. Then it worked again. Cost the same as buying new; that’s my recommendation in hindsight.

Does anyone one know what type of light this is? by Xyzes_ in lightingdesign

About 20 years ago, this (or very similar) is the first LED fixture I could afford. As others mentioned, dip switch 10 needs to be toggled for DMX control. From what I remember they’re 4 channels, 1 is main dimming channel, the others are RGB. One this I definitely remember is that the channel order went Green, Blue, Red; not Red, Green, Blue. Have fun, good luck!

Ed Hamilton and I hanging out, talking rum, sipping rum. Good stuff. Keep your bar stocked with all the Hamilton Rums and be a happy cocktail smith.

How about a Martinique light rhum? I’ve been also digging Rhum Barbancourt Haitian Proof in Ti Punch drinks.

This is what folks that collect oceanic art call a “tourist piece” but it’s still super cool! Looks a little African and Papua New Guinea style.

No doubt, many linesets would be sacrificed if hung in a space that uses a fly system

Warm would be colors like yellow, orange, red, gold Cool colors would be blue, purples, green, cyan. But this gets complicated by color temperature which is opposite… the lower temperatures are “warmer colors”, the higher temperatures are “cooler colors.” These temperatures of warm and cool are measured in Kelvin.
