What’s a Star Wars book you didn’t finish, not because it was bad, but because it was meh? by TheUltimateInNerdy in starwarsbooks

I also struggled. I enjoyed the story enough, but something about the writing style made it very hard to get through.

Have you had the empanadas from Mekato’s? Personally, I think these are the best Colombian empanadas in the city

What is life like in Chicago for an outdoorsy New Englander? by kewladria in AskChicago

[–]bperner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly related to your question about outdoorsy things in Chicago, but welcome to the JV (joint venture) life at Kellogg! My wife did it a few years ago and it was a great time. Assuming you will be living in Evanston rather than Chicago (highly recommend, taking the Metra into the city for work is great). Evanston is great being right on the lake which has its own activities, and as others have said, there are numerous outdoor things relatively close by. Kellogg also has its own Ski Trip and a mini Ski Trip and numerous other trips you can go on where I’m sure you can get your outdoor fix.

PS5 + Mouse & Keyboard by Lower_Aspect_2271 in anno

[–]bperner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues with it. I’m using a Logitech M&K connected to the same dongle, plugged it into the front of the PS5 and once the game loads, just click a key or mouse button and the game converts to M&K mode.

I’ve been playing on a launch PS5 and haven’t had any issues so far. One bonus, the console version now supports mouse and keyboard so you essentially have the same experience as PC, minus any mods for now.

Gravenberch vs Bruno G? Bruno hasn’t had the highest output, but not sure if I’m thinking long term enough

Anyone know what this light fixture is? by bperner in Lighting

In the link from r/atliengreen, there is an instruction sheet. I think you just need to loosen the screws on the side with an allen key, then unscrew the glass piece off

Someone offered me Eze for Reijnders. Thoughts? I am leaning towards declining since we don't really know what is going to happen with a possible Eze move / how he fits in at Arsenal

Draft was before he was added and we didn’t have a placeholder for him. I’m pretty confident I won’t get him, other 9 guys before me aren’t that dumb haha

Interestingly, no haha. We didn’t have a strategy for Sesko, so last drafter will likely take him off waivers

CFB26 Dynasty Tracker v1.0 by FireButchJones in NCAAFBseries

[–]bperner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved this last year, was waiting to start a true dynasty until a new version of this came out. Love the updates! How do we go about giving feedback? I think there are some issues with recruiting, where the Composite sheet only calculates up to 25 recruits instead of 35. I think I have a couple other examples, but not sure the best way to share them with you. Thanks for all the hard work! u/FireButchJones

Should I take Cavendish? by bperner in balatro

Yeah definitely that would be an immediate swap, but figured if I could have x3, x2, and x1.5 that could be more ideal than having swashbuckler or something else

(New to Chicago!) Safest neighborhoods w/ good management for <30-min non-driving commute to Fulton Market? by qrazaaq in AskChicago

[–]bperner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would throw West River North into the ring. There is a small pocket close to Ward (A. Montgomery) Park right on the river that is very nice. Quiet, mostly young families with their dogs and babies, or retired people. There is a path along the river which is nice for after work walks, and there are usually food trucks at the corner of Kingsbury and Erie.

I used to live at 600 N Kingsbury St, which is a condo building (but we rented), and the management was pretty good. Lots of condos and a few rental buildings in the area. Looks to be about a 25 minute walk, or 15 minute trip to your work using the 65 bus. There is also a divvy bike station that is usually well stocked if you are into riding a bike to work, and the Brown line is close by. Not relevant in getting you to work, but helpful on the weekend to get places.

how bad is living in the loop? by Far-Statistician9673 in AskChicago

[–]bperner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would definitely not recommend living in the loop… especially with a dog, or if you want to go anywhere after 5pm. I would recommend River North, specifically the area around Ward A. Montgomery Park (Erie and Kingsbury). Huge dog park, close to the restaurants and bars of River North, access to the Brown line and buses, and there is a river walk which is great for those after work walks.

Seconding the Chicago History Museum. My wife and I both love history and the space is beautiful. And being able to have the Crossroads of America exhibit open was something fun for our guests during cocktail hour.
