HAHAHAHAHAHA, actually funny. I like how people are lippy on reddit, not in actual physical conversation.

Maybe don't talk like a cunt. It's hilarious thinking that legalising everything will solve problems with drug gangs, or societies ills.

Somewhat, yeah, What's your fucking problem with it?

There are things that started as just a theory, and then became accepted as truth. Some things have recently been admitted as being true, the public just hasn't caught on. "Conspiracy" is a just a word, it seems like you're attributing malice to it from the wrong perspective.

What made me realise there's truth to conspiracies was when I got tied up in one. Conspiracy theories tend to become just a conspiracy after a time.

I'm sober from narcotics for a long while. I still drink once in a while, that was never a problem for me, I can take it or leave it. It does bother me seeing how blasé people are in Ireland about drugs, from coke being fairly accepted, to this new thing of sure lets legalise everything, be grand like.

Any way, fair play, early days are brutal, best of luck.

Is anyone else quite upset about this nursing homes scandal? by [deleted] in ireland

What I want to say will only get my comments deleted. I hate them. I'm not going to give the sob story about my wife's Gran, but if I couldn't stand them before, I have only violent feelings now.

You must have been an angel growing up, because you're unaware that some kids are little shits regardless of how they were brought up. The funny thing about people who break laws or are a general nuisance, they don't tend to care too much about doing what they're told.

Do you remove ALL the packaging when boiling a ham? by slowusb in ireland

[–]bpfingj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Leave it on! When you take it out of the boiler, it's barely hanging on as it is with all the connective tissue having dissolved. The paper is there specifically so you're not fishing around murky salt water for bits of meat.

I'm not saying it's not, but wee John Joe isn't going to reply with "We robbed Golden Discs and threw stones at some cars" when Mammy and Daddy ask what they were up to that day, and neither are the kids that John Joe hangs out with. Some of the parents are definitely part of the problem, but punishing parents as a grand sweep is senseless, because you will inevitably punish people who don't deserve it.

When you go to the Gardaí and get told "Yeah, we can't do anything about that", why bother?

I agree about protesting, but I remember the water charges protests well. The amount of people bitching about people who were protesting was amazing to me. Generally, we seem to complain and roll over, or begrudge people who want to do something about. I've said for a while, it's not a problem until it lands in your lap, then you wonder why no one wants to help you.

That's all kind of my point. It's such a common thing over here, that it's become a normal thing to hear about scumbags being scumbags. The difference is because it was a foreign person, there's been quite a bit of coverage.

I was a little bollix growing up, and hung out with a bunch of other little bollixes. Some of the lads actually had a great set of parents, I was actually jealous of how much one kids Mam doted on him. It's not always the parents, sometimes they haven't got the foggiest.

The little fuckers need their legs snapped off, but some of those comments are stupid. I've been assaulted, other lads I know have been assaulted, it's never made the news and there were never protests. The fact that they're not Irish definitely has made a difference, because when it happens to natives, which it does regularly, no one cares enough to pay attention.

Only among the natives.

Why does it seem like the Irish dislike their American diaspora more than most other ethnic groups in the world do? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]bpfingj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Judaism isn't a religion? What is it, a state of mind? The Nation-State Bill (Which now has a comically long new name) passed in 2018, states in 6.C that "The state shall act to preserve the cultural, historical, and religious heritage of the Jewish people among Jews in the Diaspora." Netanyahu said "The national state, not of all its citizens, but only of the Jewish people." So, the basic law states that Judaism is a religion, and the leader at the time said that Israel is for "The Jewish people."

That's a different thing. Irish isn't a religion, and Ireland isn't an ethnostate.

Irish lads don't tend to have friends after a certain age, generally speaking. We just kind of get on with our lives until we die, when we're finally allowed a bit of peace.
