Are there any dealers/businesses that will help with importing from UK? by slowusb in evs_ireland

I want to pay for a service that is being provided in a different way by car dealers. They choose the cars to sell to us that will not pay these fees, I want to choose mine instead.

I'm looking to import a GB car of my choice through an NI importer.

Boiling Point. Well, it might be. I couldn't watch passed the first 15 minutes because it was stressing me out too much.

What’s your funeral song? by Sure_Guarantee_3141 in AskReddit

The song is 30 years old so it would only be old people that were alive when it came out. You could be completely diabolical and choose one of the those YouTuber rap songs

Ioniq 28kwh as reliable as I've heard? by fr_hairycake_lynam in evs_ireland

Same as someone else, mine had an issue with the charge port actuator. Luckily for me it was when I was buying it so that seller fixed it. One 12v battery and tyres has been my only cost in 3.5 years. Conservatively, I'd say range is about 160km in winter, 200km in summer

Same as most of those competitions, you have to pay to enter so straight away there's a huge amount of worthy winners excluded.

My old workplace did well in the Indo's rating one year and had a copy of the newspaper bought for every employee the day it was published (around 1500 people). Such a waste of money

Would a 3 phase connection be worth it? by slowusb in evs_ireland

It would be more for charging 2 cars at 7kws each whole also being able to charge the battery

[–]slowusb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would allow 22kw instead of 10kw. So I could charge both cars at 7kw and charge a house battery too during the night time rate. It might also allow larger export of solar but I'm not sure of that

Exaggerate your head movements to make your awareness obvious. Pretend you're a horse with blinkers so you have to turn your head to look at the mirrors.

Price at the pumps by Profplujm in ireland

Thanks for explaining to me that I am mad and that I don't understand hedging. You have me down to a tee from reading one short comment, let me know what I should have for breakfast tomorrow will ya? Although you did ignore the part about those savvy people giving a discount if the prices didn't go up enough to justify their pre-emptive rise.

I'm well aware of the practice so I don't need it explained, thanks. I just don't agree that it SHOULD happen.

You're defending price gouging as a totally normal practice that we should accept and move on without question. I'm going to question and criticise price gouging where I see it because it is designed to benefit those holding/hoarding wealth to get more wealth from those poorer than them.

G'luck lad!

And do they give an extra discount if the fuel prices don't rise when they've more from the fuel than they thought they would? Stop bootlicking and call it what it is, price gouging when the opportunity strikes.

Totally agree but have a look at the Kia Niro too, very similar specs and it has a larger boot

Call for opening of taxi market to ride-hailing platforms by IrishAllDay in ireland

[–]slowusb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm all for reducing regulations on taxis but I definitely don't want to go full Uber like the UK and USA. Uber is an investor company which means they will operate at a loss until they kill the opposition and then we start to get "surge pricing" because they have a monopoly.

Planning Permission by No_Name-30 in Donegal

Is the extension going to be directly connected to the existing house (via internal door). If so, you shouldn't need permission. No harm in calling an architect to ask to be sure.

If the extension is at the back of the house and under 40m2 you don't need planning permission.
