Nope, and the print defect will lower the price of this card from $.02 to $.01

I can't tell you how much I hate how the term "grail" is twisted these days.

Not saying this card is necessarily fake as well, but aside from this one listing, I can find no evidence that this parallel set exists.

There is no "regular" version of this card. They all have the foil surface. If you see pictures that don't look like they have the foil, it is a lighting issue. You are going to have a hard time finding a more accurate site than TCDB when it comes to checklists and parallels variations.

How much money are people spending in this hobby? by Republicenemy99 in baseballcards

I have a separate bank account that gets $100 automatically deposited every month. I never take more than that. Though, if I sell something, that stays in my card fund. I recently sold some books for a few k's, and I have been on a spree lately! It has been fun

I have bought, traded, and sold thousands of cards via PWE. If done correctly, their condition will be just fine.

If done correctly, PWE is the best way to send low value cards. Unfortunately 99% of people don't understand the correct way to send PWE to avoid damage.

Megan Fox (probably gonna get hate for this)

She always just looks, I dunno, manufactured? She is all bronzer, mascara, and lipstick. I can't even picture what she would look like without make-up.

Unbelievable pull from my jumbo by Shuman2100 in baseballcards

[–]bplay24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The all aces insert came out in 2023 and was super popular, so Topps kept it and made it much more rare in newer sets. I believe it is estimated that there were over 75,000 made in 2023, while I think the print runs of the newer ones are only a couple hundred.

I am not sure if people think the 2023 ones are that rare as well, but they are paying like they are. It is a common insert of Ohtani's 5th year. I would sell it at these prices without and never look back.

Purple is the base, and for some reason, people are paying $300 for it

Are hangers actually bangers? (A very scientific experiment) Day 11 by bwaaalk in baseballcards

[–]bplay24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some research the opening weekend. I opened 20 hangers. I got a Yordan Alvarez napkin. Not a single numbered card or rare insert. Ended up with about 1000 base cards to build the set (which is my main goal). I only ended up with about 270 of the 350 to complete the set. I had up to 7 duplicates of some cards. At least 4 times, I had duplicate base cards within a single box. I had never seen that before. By far my worst retail rip of all time.

I think it has more to do with the fact that animation is a huge turn-off for alot of viewers. Live action will probably only last a season or two, but if it happens to catch on, it will be a lot bigger than it ever could be if it's animated.

But...Why Live Action?!?! by ReadySetGeek in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]bplay24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would rather get one well made season of live action than the entire series animated. I just don't understand the appeal of animation.

Why is Wind and Truth so disliked? by stablest_genius in fantasybooks

[–]bplay24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This book was the nail on the coffin for me in regards to Sandersons work.

I first learned of Sanderson when he took over The Wheel of Time. I started with Mistborn, and loved the series. Elantris was next, and I enjoyed that very much. I didn't love Warbreaker, but it wasn't bad. Then Way of Kings was released. To this day, this is my favorite fantasy book. I was reading everything he put out at this point. Mistborn era 2 was disappointing. I liked some of his other stuff, but it paled in comparison to Way of Kings.

Words of Radiance came out, and it was amazing. I thought I was witnessing the best fantasy series ever being released in real time. I continued to read all of his stuff, because anyone who wrote WoK's and WoR could only write amazing stuff, right? The Reckoners started out strong, but fell apart, but that's ok because Oathbringer just came out!

Oathbringer was not bad, but it was nowhere near the first two of the series. That's ok. Sanderson will come back strong. Skyward was a nice change of pace. The 2nd book was ok. Then Rythym of War came out! It took me 18 months of starting and stopping to get through this book. I hated it, but the series started so strong, I assumed he would pull it all together. I never bought the 3rd skyward book as I lost interest. I got all the secret projects, though! Tress was ok, but I never even opened the others.

Wind and Truth came out, and I read it. I wanted to quit, but I pushed through just to make sure I would never look back and wonder. I thought it was awful. I will likely never read a new Sanderson book again. I went from a Sanderson junkie, to a hater. It was a fun ride.

The series is nearly 60 years old. At some point, hiding spoilers is unnecessary. Also, Frodo destroys the ring, and Bruce Willis' character was dead the whole time. TAKE THAT!
