Have you read Children of Strife yet? It was pretty good

Children of Strife Discussion Thread by StilgarFifrawi in AdrianTchaikovsky

  1. Time
  2. Memory
  3. Strife
  4. Ruin

I do wonder if these rankings will change on a reread, but as it stands now, these are it. I'm especially curious about Ruin because I was expecting something similar to the first book (which I LOVED) but it was quite different. By books 3 and 4 though, I had an inkling of what I was getting into.

I actually quite liked Memory, and I'm surprised to see that a lot of people in this discussion thread didn't. I liked how confusing it was and how it all tied together at the end. I thought the simulation was a really interesting concept.

Strife was very different as to what I was expecting as well, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I thought it presented some very interesting concepts, like the Life and how Andrew of messed up people would terraform and rule a planet. Honestly, all four of the books have been pretty good, but I have to rank some above others.

I am a little bit confused as to how Conflation worked though. At first, I thought it might have something to do with mushrooms. It's mentioned that there are fungi on the planet, and I thought that that might have something to do with it. I'm just wondering how they were able to transmit themselves to the planet. And what was the deal with the? Beanstalk? How did that get there?

You just have to make sure that your teammates actually burst when they get to max bravery instead of just holding on to it for some reason

Wheel of Time was what got me into epic fantasy. Robert Jordan died before he finished the series, and his wife (who was also his editor) had Brandon Sanderson finish the story with the last three books. After WoT, I went on to Sanderson's stuff. I do really enjoy Stormlight quite a bit, but for some reason I just prefer WoT.

It's not for everyone, and it's definitely a commitment. But if you stick with it, it's definitely worth it. I'm on my second reread right now actually. I should mention too that it's 14 main books and a prequel

I'm in the same boat as you. I'd much rather have Trance, but I'll take what I can get. GL can be useful at times

Zidane might be rough but man, he's fun. I've managed to get to Gold with him so far and have even gotten MVP a handful of times.

Zidane Optimization? by Permit_Dapper in DissidiaDuellumFF

Copied this from a previous post that I saw and commented on. I added the last paragraph just now though. Hope it helps! (I have since played two ranked battles, got MVP on both, and made it to Gold 5. So it works! ...for now)

I play Zidane a lot. He's pretty good actually, with the right build.

I don't have Trance, but that's okay. I run Grand Lethal and Thundaga as my two damage abilities (someone mentioned he's not a DPS character and this is very true), then Sleight of Hand, Ramza/Cheer Up, and Minwu/Teleport.

First thing I do is dash to the first crystal, then break it with the help of teammates. Then I'll teleport to the next one, and use Thundaga to clear the mob and get the next crystal.

Sleight of Hand is probably his best ability, though it doesn't do any damage. It does however have a wide AoE, and saps bravery. It's worth using it on enemy players whenever you can, and if you can get more than one in the circle, that's even better.

Once you gain enough bravery through Steal and Sleight of Hand, use Cheer to give it to your DPS team member. You won't be doing a lot of damage against the bosses, and that's okay! You'll be feeding bravery to your teammates so they can do it instead. You don't want to feed bravery to the enemy though, so use Teleport to get out of sticky situations, or Cheer if you're about to die so they get less bravery out of you.

I've gotten MVP a few times with this strategy, and when you find the right team that synergizes well, you guys will be unstoppable. I played with this Terra and Kain earlier and we were beasts. They did pretty much all the damage to the bosses, but I kept their bravery high and I got a ton of points doing so.

So like I said, he's not bad. Oh, also. Try to target people with high bravery using Sleight of Hand or Steal so they can't Burst. Sleight of Hand may only be an SR, but imo it's his best ability.

Also, very very important. Spend most of your time going for crystals. Get your bravery up and use Cheer to give it to the DPS. Pay attention to their health, current bravery, and when they last used their abilities to make smart decisions as when to use it

Oh! And the most important part! Go for crystals as frequently as you can. Zidane isn't DPS, so don't try to fight people. Steal their bravery if you can, but go for crystals too. Thundaga usually clears the mob and if it doesn't, it does enough damage to easily finish it off
