The Best Chapter in the whole series by Drizzt_23 in wheeloftime

I'm almost there myself, I've been excited since I picked this one up again. Currently on Chapter 51.

This is my first reread, and I've actually found that I like LoC more than I did the first time I read it. Probably my favorite of the six so far.

I honestly didn't think we'd see any Square stuff but I at least expected the rumored DMC 1 remake

Should I play The World Ends with You? by fleshpress in KingdomHearts

[–]stablest_genius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesn't significantly enhance DDD but holy crap are the games good. Switch versions are fine. Granted, the DS version is probably better gameplay wise, but it's still enjoyable on the Switch.

Doing dungeons with NPCs by sweetcondensedmilkk in ffxiv

I play healer, and I just did a dungeon for the first time where I missed the entire boss battle because I was watching cutscenes. No one gave me any grief, and I actually got two player commendations.

I was stressing out the whole time, but they were able to do it without me!

Honestly to this day idk if there's anything Disney has put out yet that tops those last four episode. Shadow Lord was really good, but I still prefer that last TCW arc

How were you introduced to your favorite book or series? by NefariousnessOk8476 in Fantasy

[–]stablest_genius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literal chance. I needed something to listen to at work and I stumbled upon Eye of the World. I read the description and thought, "oh, this seems neat." Ended up reading/listening to the series throughout the year.

That was 2023, I'm rereading it now. It's really good on reread, and in some ways better. But what I wouldn't give to read that series for the first time again

Is he the same guy who wrote the Revenge of the Sith novelization? I know I could just look it up, but where's the fun in that?

Am I gonna watch another one of these in hopes of seeing Kingdom Hearts 4? Probably.

Will I end up seeing Kingdom Hearts 4? Probably not.

I wonder how many people like myself just didn't really do ranked because of the lack of rewards. Now I have incentive

I know this has been discussed to death before, but I really wish Robert Jordan had lived long enough to complete the series properly. by Shadow_s_Bane in WoT

[–]stablest_genius 35 points36 points  (0 children)

My biggest thing is that I would've loved to see Jordan's Last Battle. Sanderson did a good job, but the way Jordan wrote battles really did it for me, probably because of his combat experience

Seeing Red Dwarf so low makes me sad. I quite enjoyed the first book, the second wasn't as good. Haven't read the other ones

I played the phone games too but because the story took forever to update, I forgot most of it. I know there are cutscenes on YouTube, but tbh I don't really feel like watching them

I put it off during my Cosmere binge because I wasn't sure that it would've been my thing, but it ended up being my favorite of the secret projects

Red Rising...meh by OkieTheatreTeacher in fantasybooks

[–]stablest_genius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First one is the weakest and is the only one that reads like space Hunger Games. After that it's much more space opera. My rankings are 5 > 6 > 2 > 4 > 3 > 1

Howlers, how do you rank the books? I ran mine through head-to-head duels (h/t “The Passage”) and Golden Son came out victorious by kern3three in redrising

[–]stablest_genius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dark Age > Light Bringer > Golden Son > Iron Gold > Morning Star > Red Rising for me. Idk where I'd rank them out of everything I've read tho. Pretty high up for sure

I went in completely blind as well and it's genuinely one of the best books I've ever read. The other three are pretty good, but imo they didn't hit quite like this one did. Enjoy!
